Yup that’s right , Another Brother Rice linebacker has made the top 5. Booker is exactly what you want when you talk about thumping linebackers. Booker has zero regard for preserving his body when approaching contact and generally wins one on one battles at the line of scrimmage. One major thing that I love about Booker is he is extremely cerebral in his approach to the game. Booker doesn’t just rely on pure athleticism to play the position but relies on thinking his way through the game. Make no mistake though Booker has a high motor and will hit you in the mouth at any given opportunity. Brother Rice may boast the top linebacking core in the state so keep and eye out for Booker in the fall.

Booker is an outside linebacker that flashes on tape at every turn. Booker does a nice job keeping his shoulders square to the line of scrimmage and not over running plans. Booker plays with good physicality drives through ball carriers to take them down. I am also impressed with booker in pass coverage. Booker stays in phase with receivers and running backs and reads his keys well to make a play on the ball. Bookers game is rounding out well and expect him to thrive this fall and put ups good numbers for a defense that could be scary good.

Watching his highlights from this season, you see flashes of an absolute star. Playing that OLB position, he has the speed to track the ball down, as well as the strength to shimmy off of blocks to make plays. He does a phenomenal job of breaking down and making tackles in open space. His instincts are advanced which allows him to sniff things out quicker than a lot of LBs at this level. I have faith that he will keep developing and be a highly sought after prospect.

I’m sold on #24. I spent a ton of time watching Booker, and he impressed me quite a bit.
For starters, Booker is a very fluid athlete. Smooth, balanced backpedal, loose hips, and above-average explosiveity. I can only get a good evaluation of Booker’s athletic ability if he displayed great play speed- which he did. I was actually extremely impressed by what he did on special teams. On kick return, I watched Booker lay two massive blocks. Extremely high effort, physical player on special teams. Defensively, I liked Booker’s fluidity in zone coverage, and thought he tackled well. Plus, he’s just as competitive as the rest of Brother Rice’s best talent.
I really like Booker’s upside as an off-ball linebacker, DC, or S. He’ll earn a rankings boost during our next update.

has shown as a Varsity OLB/DB. Good upside at both positions. Namely, he’s physical, and has several hustle plays on tape. In the tape below, 0:42 is a true sideline-to-sideline play. Then, 0:58 shows some of his zone coverage abilities. Great job dropping back, then high-pointing the ball to break up the pass.
Generally great hustle. So many of these highlights wouldn’t exist without Booker playing through the whistle. I love the physicality, and I’m intrigued by his explosiveness. I know from last week that he’s a real competitive player as well. Whether it’s at DB or LB, I still expect Booker to develop into a Division 1 prospect.
