Explosive, three-level play-maker and vital piece in one of the most efficient offensives in the state. Horras has speed and separation quickness to beat defenders in a scheme that can be looked at as run heavy. He is one of the better route runners in the state and his ball skills and explosiveness with the ball in his hand allow him into explosive opportunities. The senior has the potential to play any of the three receiver positions at the next level. He will benefit from a pass heavy scheme that allows more opportunities.
Play-style: Three-Level Playmaker

With so many wide receivers to watch in Grand Forks, there was plenty of pass-catching talent to go around however one of my favorites in 1v1 reps was Dowling Catholic (IA) 2024 Curtis Horras. This is not the first time either that Curtis has stuck out to me so far this year, as Curtis had himself an impressive 7v7 season this winter into spring and has developed as a stock-rising wide receiver out of the state of Iowa. The development Curtis showed me off since my last viewing was his growing change of direction as I saw Curtis on numerous reps show his smooth route-running and adjust to a handful of thrown balls that might have been out of reach for other wide receivers but Curtis found a way to utilize his intution to bring them to his chest. Although he has a handful of scholarship offers at the next-level, somehow I feel Curtis is under the radar still late summer and is one that should continue to catch attention of especially Division II programs in the coming months. - First of all I love the character Curtis has from our quick interaction last Saturday as you can tell very quickly that even after winning the 18U championship, just how humble of a player this young man really is.
- He’s got the quick twitch with a high use of his agility to set the tone from the start of his route and that allows him to get ample separation like he did from the reps I watched out of him on Saturday at the Midwest Legends Classic.
- Curtis also catches my eyes with his footwork utilizing his crossover running ability as a safety, as he’s got well-balanced feet that can turn on a dime to get to the football in a quick nick of time.
- BIG fan of his tape when he utilizes the double-move as he’s able to tie up the secondary’s feet like an untied shoe, and has that athletic ability to chase down the football on his route even when it is just slightly out of reach for most WRs.
- Curtis is certainly a small town prospect I would take on Saturdays as he has that swiss-army mentality engraved into his game. From my eyes, Curtis has an Division I fit. Excited to watch him ball out at prospect camps.
