Reigning Class 5A state champion Dowling Catholic ran the table last season with an offense benefitting from high-end talent on the outside of its offense. The top two receivers have exhausted their eligibility, creating opportunities for younger, inexperienced student-athletes to seize opportunities. Williams sits firmly in that group after a freshman year of 2025 that saw him grow within the Maroon program. He’s stand out for being a big target that wins against smaller defensive backs. Long arms feed into a large catch radius and athleticism helps go over top of opponents. There’s elusiveness in space and a burst after catching the ball. Williams has a chance to be a well-rounded receiver in time and a valuable red-zone target right away.

Finding his way onto the field periodically in his first year of high school ball — even if it was more often than not in garbage time of blowout wins — for the state champions this fall, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound specimen, Beau Williams Beau Williams 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Dowling Catholic | 2029 State IA will be an interesting name to follow going forward.

Williams was the only freshman in Class 5A to grab more than one receiving touchdown and finish the year with over 100 yards receiving. Of course, nothing is a lock, but doing so at a program that has had as much success as the Maroons have had under Tom Wilson, plus his already large frame and flashes of potential, Williams could be next up for Dowling.
