Jackson established himself as a prospect of note last fall when the Des Moines Roosevelt freshman recorded 7.5 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, a forced fumble and pair of fumble recoveries. The intriguing sophomore will be at Dowling Catholic this season, joining a program that’s among the best in the state at developing talent. The coaches will be molding a unique athlete. Jackson is a three-time national champion in the javelin. He also recorded the top marks in the shot put and discus among Iowa’s freshmen in Class 4A. Expect a leap forward in 2026 from Jackson, who has athleticism in his blood. His older sister, Arianna Jackson, will be an Iowa State basketball senior in the fall.

Braylon Jackson Braylon Jackson 6'1" | 220 lbs | DL Dowling Catholic | 2029 State IA recently made a big move, transferring from Des Moines Roosevelt to Dowling Catholic, which could pay off huge dividends for his development playing for the 5A powerhouse. Jackson flashed plenty of promise as a freshman, recording 7.5 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, half a sack, a forced fumble, and 2 fumble recoveries in his freshman year alone. That in itself is quite an impressive stretch, giving promise for Jackson as a DE/OLB hybrid with explosiveness and the potential to consistently disrupt the passing game with his presence. The Maroons got quite the project player on their hands, and he could quickly find himself playing a big role on their defense in 2026 after several of their top defensive players graduated this offseason.
