An absolute terror on the Dowling defensive front,

lived in the Liberty backfield all night in Cedar Falls.
Committed to Drake, Bobo showed why he’s a Division I caliber pass-rusher, playing with violence and relentless pursuit of the quarterback off the edge for the Maroons. With the way he played in The Dome, the Bulldogs better hope he makes it to signing day — a program in the midst of a rebuild like UNI, that can also offer him a scholarship — could greatly benefit from adding an in-state DL and building block like Bobo.
Surprisingly finishing with just four tackles, Bobo finished with three sacks that resulted in 35-yards lost for the Liberty offense, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Staying in Dowling Catholic, we take a look at Middleton’s running mate in the pass-rushing corps,

. Bobo recorded 32 tackles (25 solo), 10 TFLs, 6 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries last season. Much like Middleton, Bobo isn’t a physically imposing edge-rusher, but he wins with speed and smart pursuit angles, showing the ability to move from the outside edge to the A-gap and plug the middle, to containing the outside-run, while also being able to pursue the ball-carrier going the opposite direction of him. Bobo had a huge presence during the team’s postseason run, and in their semifinal loss to Valley, Bobo had 2 TFLs and 2 sacks in the game, showcasing his ability to step up in the big games. The Maroons have a strong one-two punch in their pass-rush unit that may help give them team a push toward making another deep playoff run.

Bobo wouldn’t be the first one picked for a pickup football game. His frame falls short of the cookie-cutter dimensions desired in a defensive lineman. Whoever chose him would be pleased with what they received, however. When I saw him during November’s state semifinals, his impact was readily apparent. He’s got a great motor, understands that low man wins and is physical. It led to 32.0 tackles (25 solo, 10.0 TFL) and 6.5 sacks. He’s a disruptor, one that can no doubt help programs at the next level.
