came into this season as one of a few seniors that had starting experience over the last few seasons. Parker has been incredibly valuable to the Spartans on both sides of the ball this fall. Offensively, Parker has become Bixby’s short yardage specialist from the quarterback position. Defensively, that’s where Parker has shined brightest at the linebacker position. He’s one of the team’s top tacklers and he’s helped this Bixby linebacker group continue to be one of the best position groups in the state. And that’s nothing different for the Spartans over the last decade. They seem to always have a great cast of linebackers and this season is no different. But it starts with the senior in Parker.

at times in the backfield. Parker was an outstanding running threat, specifically near the goal line and in short yardage situations. Parker was third on the team in rushing and was second in rushing touchdowns with nine on the year. Don’t be surprised to see Parker replicate that kind of production for the Spartan offense this fall. But there’s no doubt that he is going to be more valuable to the defensive side of the ball. The Bixby senior is the lone full time starter that returns on defense. He was third on the team in tackles a year ago and is going to be a big part of the defense this season, helping new guys come along.

was a two-way playmaker for the Spartans during the 2023 season. Parker was one of the leading tacklers on defense and also made an impact for the state champions at quarterback. As we look ahead to the 2024 season, Parker could have a much greater impact on the defensive side of the ball. On offense, the Spartans look like they are set at quarterback and while Parker can still produce there, his abilities on defense will be a higher premium. The Spartans lose a lot off the front seven and that was the strength of the defense last fall. Parker has the potential to be one of, if not the team’s leading tackler this fall.
