I have talked quite a bit about Chad recently so I’ll keep it somewhat short, but it can’t be overstated just how well he’s developing. As a pass catcher, he runs solid routes and has the physicality to be a great jump ball option, especially in the red zone. He flashes good hands and the ability to make some difficult catches in traffic. His effort is outstanding. On run plays, he is consistently downfield making key blocks and using his size to overwhelm smaller defensive backs. Willis is in for a monster senior season next year.

The first thing that stuck out to me when watching Chad was his physicality. Right from the very start of the game, he was blocking downfield and making key seal blocks to open up running lanes. Even on kick return, he had a couple of big blocks that were key in busting it for extra yardage. I would say he’s the best blocking WR I have evaluated at least this season, maybe ever. He had some great catches mixed in and a great combination of speed and attention to detail on routes that makes him an all around WR. Maybe the biggest stock riser of anyone in this

Tall and strong wide receiver with great adjustment to the ball in the middle of the air. Great leaping ability, wins contested one-on-one battles, and can make defenders miss after the catch. Film shows a tough wideout who can make one-handed grabs in traffic. Tough run blocker on the perimeter.

This is what I’m talking about when I say this Top 10 was impossible to rank.
I love Chad as a prospect. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was considering ranking Chad at #1. Chad’s size, speed, and versatility combination is exceptionally rare. He can go out and be your X receiver, and he can also go out on defense and cover the opposing X. Likewise, I like what Chad is able to do when it comes to route running. Great change of direction for his size. I’m expecting a massive season from Chad, and he could keep inching his way toward the #1 ranking.

The third of our elite recievers, and other prospect that I’m considering ranking #1.
Chad has the best size of any skill player in this class. 6’2″ 213 (Verified) with elite athleticism is nearly unheard of. I also know that Chad has extremely quick feet for his size and has a wide catch radius. On top of that, Chad can play DB.
I feel that Chad’s tape is a touch behind the two prospects listed above, but his ceiling may be the highest. I’m pretty set on ranking Chad in the top 3.

is someone I’m extremely excited to get in front of again. Recently, Chad received an offer from Michigan, and I know that team doesn’t give out offers easily.
His tape shows great release and a whole lot of speed on deep/intermediate routes. There are also a couple moments of tremendous concentration as he comes down with contested catches. I really think that Michigan offered because of how dang explosive Chad looks at times. I’d imagine Chad’s testing numbers are great, and I’d imagine he’s on track to have an excellent 2025 season.

Chad has had an excellent season, and I’m excited to see what he can do against a super athletic Groves defense. Primarily a receiver (this season), Chad is a reliable deep threat and speed-in-space target. Even against top competition (Toledo CC, De La Salle), Chad is able to win separation and secure important catches.
I love Chad’s route-running- he has the knowledge/athleticism/Change of direction to consistently get open on comebacks. In addition, his athleticism translates well to his release and deep route running- able to take the top off of the defense. He’ll be going up against a really great Groves secondary, and I’m looking forward to seeing Chad’s highlights.

Chad has already had himself a breakout season, mainly being utilized as an outside receiver.
He’s trusted to make a lot of plays in space. A very common route that he runs is a simple 5-yard hitch. Most of the time, Chad is stopped for a short gain. Sometimes, Chad is able to evade a couple tackles for some really impressive YAC.
Chad also runs a few other routes, mostly go’s and screens. Plus, he’s an excellent, excellent blocker. I think Chad will have a opportunity to play one of his best games against Carlson, who haven’t played as good a passing team as OLSM.

We’re sticking with the 8x Michigan state football champions Orchard Lake-St. Mary’s Prep for yet another superstar freshman football prospect, who we briefly hinted at in the previous evaluation. 6’2, 190 lb. WR Chad Willis exploded onto the national recruiting scene early in his freshman season after earning an SEC offer from Kentucky in late September. This spring, he’s cemented his status as a freshman phenom by earning additional offers from Bowling Green State, Miami (OH), and most recently, the Duke Blue Devils, as of five days ago. Willis has limited film from the fall, but what from I can gather, Willis is a long pass-catcher with a great frame to continue adding muscle and shows off quick releases at the LOS, comfortability beating the press, good route running skills, and soft hands who can finish completions through contact. He did notch varsity reps last fall, including varsity catches and TDs, but this is far from a complete eval, and I’m itching to get some film on this kid in pads.
Orchard Lake-St. Mary’s is a must-stop on the recruiting trail the next few cycles.
