About Treighjan
Expert Analysis

Even as a junior, Treighjan is one of the best EDGE guys in the state. With an incredibly high motor, Gibson is able to fire off and continue to throw moves until he gets free, and can chase down a QB or RB with ease. Whether it’s in pass rushing spots or just maintaining a gap in the run game, Gibson does both at an extremely high level. This week will be another major test as OLSM will match up against Portage Central, one of the most efficient offenses in the state of Michigan. If he comes ready to play and does what he is capable of, they will be heading to Ford Field once again on Thanksgiving weekend.

Gibson has such a high motor, it makes him inevitable. He will absolutely wear down interior offensive linemen and abuse their slow reactions and poor technique. Whether it’s in pass rushing spots or just maintaining a gap in the run game, Gibson has the ability to do both. He’s big and physical but still has the athleticism to move and use some finesse when necessary. He solidified himself as a high D1 prospect on my board.

An incredibly explosive defensive tackle. I see the upside. Really nice getoff, and fast enough to blow past the vast majority of high school offensive linemen. Unfortunately, Gibson was going up against some of the best O-Linemen in the state. Gibson looked a bit out-muscled against DCC’s interior O-Line, and he struggled to anchor down.
I’d expect Gibson to shine against the rest of OLSM’s schedule- that IOL was the best he’ll face all season, even if OLSM makes it to Ford Field.

A really exciting in-person evaluation. Super explosive DT on tape. But against an elite interior O-Line? This is going to be a big test.
It’s also a big test for the DCC O-Line. Nobody can afford a slow getoff. One mistep early in the play, and I could see Gibson quickly getting into the backfield. Gibson could make DCC’s offense very one-dimensional. I’m extremely excited to see that battle in the trenches.

An incredibly well-rounded defensive tackle in the toughest league in Michgian.
Gibson is arguably a better pass rusher than he is run defender. He’s extremely quick off the ball, and can bend his way through blocks. Against teams like De La Salle and Toledo Catholic Central, Gibson flashed his TFL upside with quick stunts, earning a free ride to the RB. Smart player, athletic, and someone I expect to see many more highlights for this season.

Motor, motor, motor. That’s what you want to see from a defensive tackle. Treighjan has the size, motor, and does the little things well enough to be a solid D1 prospect. Rarely do you see a DT who can move his hands alongside his feet like Treighjan can. Most DTs are quite stiff, struggle to bend, and struggle to maintain momentum.
The #1 interior defensive lineman in Michigan!

I really fell in love with Treighjan’s tape a few months ago, and I was pretty firm on him being a potential P4 guy. Since then, offer after offer has rolled in and solidified what I saw. He’s a high motor kid with a quick first step and creating havoc in the backfield on every down. He’s not one dimensional, he is an impact player both in the run game as well as generating QB pressure.
While the P4 offers haven’t rolled in quite like I figured he would have by now, Gibson is just scratching the surface of his potential and it only takes one big-time school to take a shot with him. Plenty of upside physically as well as receiving coaching from some of the best coaches in the state should put him on everyone’s radar.

I really fell in love with this kid’s tape. It’s not incredibly lengthy or anything, but what I see is a high motor defensive lineman with super high upside. He has a quick first step, does a great job of shedding blocks and creating a ton of pressure. He consistently collapsed the pocket and forced QBs to adjust. Gibson demonstrated the ability to fill gaps and make tackles in the run game along with just being a pass rusher. Gibson has received some MAC offers recently, and he looks to be 1 offseason away from exploding on the recruiting trail.

If you don’t know this kid by now, you will very soon! First off, his get off speed is ridiculous. There are a ton of highlights where he is just straight up quicker off the ball than the offensive linemen and he is in the backfield by the time the QB sees him. He has the power to bull rush and make life difficult for the offensive line to protect. My gut tells me he is going to be on a high D2/MAC level very soon, and I don’t think that is his ceiling. They better be taking notice soon!
