Blair will absolutely be ranked once we have a comfortable top 50-100. His highlights are far and away better than most 2029 DBs, and even better than some seniors.
Kicking off Blair’s tape, we see him playing free safety in Cover 1. Blair reads the QBs eyes, immediately starts shading right, and once the ball is thrown, he does an excellent job of high-pointing the ball and cutting off the receiver. 0:40 is another impressive play. Again, playing free safety, Blair has his eyes on the TE running a seam, crashes on the TE once the ball is thrown, and delivers a great hit, forcing an incompletion. Lastly, 1:26 is a good example of Blair’s open-field tackling. He takes a solid angle on the stretch play and brings the RB down before he reaches the 1st down marker. Blair could have taken a more aggressive angle, and he could have gotten much lower on the tackle. Though it’s still a nice highlight.
Blair is already better than a lot of senior safeties when it comes to defending a zone. He does a good job reading the QB’s eyes and attacks when the ball is thrown. Additionally, he’s a good athlete. There are a few major weaknesses, and Blair is already looking like a good college prospect.

If Prep Redzone Next’s evaluations are anything to go by, Blair is on his way to being a phenomenal prospect. The many evals from our Next team highlight Blair’s above-average athleticism and above-average ability to cover. Quick feet, good patience, doesn’t bite on double moves.
Blair has a few clips on his Twitter that back this up. I like his change of direction and patience. Flashes good coverage, though I do think he tends to turn his head too quickly.
Blair seems to be on his way to great Varsity performances. Can’t wait to see how Blair develops over the next few years!

Broad Jump: 97 inches
Jones used his length to his advantage by recording the best jump at camp. He has a thin and long athletic frame. Most impressive is his numbers across the board stayed consistent. I bet if tested in the vertical his name would be on the top as well.

is a coordinators dream in the secondary. The length and range he can cover is scary. You could see the discipline in his coverage and how he trusts his own eyes. It did not matter how many double moves that receivers threw on Blair, he stayed true to executing at a high level. I believe as he develops, Mr. Jones can develop into a high level cornerback or free safety.

Read EvaluationPatton Fitzpatrick | Prep Redzone Scout
Jones has all the traits to be an elite defensive back prospect in the near future. He measured and tested well at the PRZ Midwest Middle School Showcase, as the Class of 2029 corner / safety stood at 5’8 and weighed 133 lbs. During the testing portion, Jones ran a 5.09 40 yard dash, a 4.91 short shuttle, 7.65 L-drill, and jumped an 8’4 broad. Not bad for a 7th grader. He also performed well in 1-on-1’s. Keep an eye on Jones over the next several seasons as he continues to perfect his craft.
