Gilford is an elite cornerback, and if Liberty decides to take shots and look his way, he’ll be able to show his athletic traits and make a play on the ball. He’ll be in charge of covering their best receiver, and he may not get a lot of passes come his way, but the ones that do, if he can make a play on the ball and create turnovers or end a drive, that’ll go a long way to help Skyridge win the game.

Gilfrod is an elite cover corner and his tape is impressive, but he is even better in person. I’ve seen him at showcases, 7’s events, and private sessions, and he is a player who always stands out. Exceptional hip fluidity to stick to his receiver, is twitchy, has good speed, and showcases good quickness and burst. He tracks the ball well, makes a play on the ball, and has good physicality. He can play off or be a press cover corner. He is an elite prospect and will be a multi-year Power-Four starter.

Gilford is an elite shutdown cornerback and is the most technically sound corner the state has seen in a while. He has great hip fluidity and does an excellent job of sticking to the hip pocket of his receiver. Gilford has great footwork, instincts, and ball skills to make a play when the ball comes his way. He has good speed and excels as a press island corner, as well as an off corner where he can turn and burn. He fits any defensive scheme and is an exceptional talent. He will be a multi-year Power Four starter, and if he hits his trajectory, he is another who has NFL potential.

During the 7’s event, he was a shut-down corner and made easy work of the receivers he matched up against. Gilford is an exceptional cover corner and took reps on the offensive side of the ball, too. He has great hip fluidity, sticks to the hip pocket of his receiver, can press and play off coverage, and has the speed to turn and burn. Gilford is primed for a fantastic season and is a multi-year Power-Four starter.

Gilford is an exceptional athlete with great length and long arms. He shows great hip fluidity and has excellent lateral quickness. Gilford has great technique, when he is off coverage, he has great turn and burn and does a fantastic job of turning his head to locate the ball and make a play on it. In press coverage, his length and speed come into play as he can stick to the hip of a receiver and can undercut the route and make a play on it. He has excellent vision and active hands and does well to interfere in passing windows. He is willing to get dirty, help in run support and make open-field tackles. He is an excellent corner and his length with his innate ability to be impactful gets him to the Power-Four. He is a multi-year starter and should be recruited nationally. One of the best defensive backs in the state.
