Brown moves down from Virginia for the 2028 season, and he gives Rolesville a prototypical corner prospect to plug and play in a talented secondary that consistently puts players at the Division I level. Brown can play bump-and-run or off-man coverage, and his skill set gives the Rams’ defense a lot of options.

Sometimes, adding a guy to the rankings is a formality. But we always evaluate every new player so they have a full evaluation on their profile, even if they’re an established out-of-state transfer like Brown. A large portion of the ACC has offered the long, speedy corner. The first thing I look for with corners is their hips, and he can open up from his backpedal to full speed as quickly as anybody you’ll find. All the physical pieces are there, and he’ll continue to grow as a technician at Rolesville.

Asaiah Brown will be playing with 919 Elite this weekend, but he now suits up at Rolesville High School after transferring in January from Salem in neighboring Virginia. Brown is a physical, sticky defensive back that can really run. Listed at 5’11”, he plays much bigger—closer to 6’2″ with the way he competes at the catch point and uses his length. Brown is currently ranked the #5 defensive back in the state of Virginia according to Prep Redzone VA, and with his move to Rolesville, he should quickly become one of the highest-ranked defensive backs in North Carolina once that transition is fully reflected in the rankings. His combination of speed, physicality, and coverage instincts makes him a prospect to watch closely this weekend.

Salem’s Asaiah Brown Asaiah Brown 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Rolesville | 2028 State NC earned his 12th overall ranking in our last update and he may get a bump in our new one. He looks like a lights out corner already and has 3 interceptions halfway through his sophomore campaign. Picking up an offer from East Carolina this week is certainly impressive, but Brown is due for more. Love this young man’s footwork and ball skills, you are going to be seeing more of him come postseason play.

The last of the freshmen who stood out—and perhaps the most impressive—was Asaiah Brown Asaiah Brown 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Rolesville | 2028 State NC from Oscar Smith High School in Virginia. During the NLA Myrtle Beach 7-on-7 Tournament, Brown was everywhere on the field, making plays and showcasing his versatility.

A key contributor to Oscar Smith’s State Championship run this past fall, Brown continues to shine with Quality 7v7, where he lines up anywhere from nickel to safety and excels no matter where he plays.

A former youth star from the DMV, Brown’s talent and versatility makes him a future Power 4 projection, and you will undoubtedly hear his name throughout his career.
