Martinez is a physical bruising type of back. He’s an angry runner with a chip on his shoulder. He’s got good acceleration and vision to find/utilize holes to punish the defense. He’s got good footspeed and change of direction to make defenders miss. Martinez will put his shoulder down to create extra yardage. His awareness really stands out to me. In the game vs Legacy, there was a lateral throw. He hustled and chased after the fumble. A great player who’s flying under the radar.

Martinez was steady in the run game when Lawrence needed a break. He accounted for 12 carries for 32 yards and 1 TD. With 2 receptions and 46 yards in the air. He is a physical running back who isn’t afraid of contact. He’ll put his shoulder down and create extra yardage. Demonstrates good burst and vision behind the O-Line.

At #3 on the list is Martinez who is a back that has some great hands coming out of the backfield and being able to come up with some one handed catches as well. He is patient, he lets the blocks setup on the screens and is able to navigate his way through the blocks picking up good yardage whenever his number is called. Martinez isn’t as fast as the other two backs but he is a back that can hit those big chunk, explosive plays that you look for in a back. Martinez is a solid runner and can pickup a couple extra yards after first contact, fighting and keeping his legs moving. Martinez was able to rush for 1,108 yards and was able to punch it in 14 times on the ground as well.
