Currently ranked as the top quarterback in the state without a known offer. Have gone into detail in previous posts about what I like about the Neumann-Goretti passer. Coaches might be up in the air on what to think of Wharton. On the outside, there are a ton of physical traits to like. Could be possible coaches want to see improvement between the ears, I doubt that notion. Never heard of grades being an issue. The first team to openly pull the trigger will say a lot about his current level. Nothing will improve his stock more than a stellar senior season.
Highlights
Top ten ranking back in January. Active off-season for Academy of the New Church quarterback. Multi-sport kid who plays lacrosse, all the while still visiting and keeping up with his football recruiting tour. Prolific production last Fall, 6’2 frame too. I can make the case for Aquino being the state’s best passer without a current football offer. We just saw names like Quaker, Meehan, and others just get their first opportunities, patience is a must at this position.
6’1 and some change, the lead man at Canon McMillan. Mike Evans Mike Evans 6’1″ | 210 lbs | QB Canon-McMillan | 2024 State PA took home 6A All-Conference honors at his position last Fall. He’s going to see quite the rise in rank this coming update, especially considering we like him as a top-three passer who is still left without an offer. Eight and a half games worth of tape conveys to the watcher a passer that flaunts natural arm talent. The lefty is seen effortlessly launching balls 50+ yards downfield, passing the in-game threshold of 40 yards for your average HS prospect. A confident and decisive QB, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mike Evans Mike Evans 6’1″ | 210 lbs | QB Canon-McMillan | 2024 State PA garner D1 interest in the form of offers, before the season begins.
Running Backs
I’m beginning to like Ty Millhimes Ty Millhimes 6’1″ | 200 lbs | RB Lower Dauphin | 2024 State PA more and more each time I watch his tape. 3.6 GPA, Millhimes might see a jump in rank, closer to the top ten or even inside the top ten. Lower Dauphin’s two-way star could double as a top LB if need be, as the talent was close to earning an “ATH” designation from us. No offers to his name, Millhimes begins his tape showing he can catch the football out of the backfield. Serves as a kick returner for LD too, a lot to unpack. Athletic ability, COD ability that of a 5’9, 5’10 back, yet stands at 6’1, 210 pounds.
Going to have to disregard measurables with Taj Dyches Taj Dyches 5’8″ | 180 lbs | RB St. Joseph’s Prep | 2024 State PA . If you want your back to look a certain way, or meet a certain threshold, so be it. I for one want my back to be tough, balanced, and comfortable working on every down. That’s Taj Dyches Taj Dyches 5’8″ | 180 lbs | RB St. Joseph’s Prep | 2024 State PA . Can work with Jones in zone-read sets, bounces off would-be tacklers consistently too. Low center of gravity combined with a stout build, this kid is going to build enough steam and momentum to plow through DBs if he reaches the second level. Un-offered to this point.
1,500+ yards to his name at Penn Hills. 5’8, 185 pounds, 1st-team All-Conference back who is the second Western PA back on this list. Penn Hills is loaded to the brim with D1 talent, yet Amir Key Amir Key 5’8″ | 185 lbs | RB Penn Hills | 2024 State PA , one of the more prolific producers in his area, is still without his first opportunity. Another year like last Fall should present Key with several opportunities in the form of potential scholarships. I’m leaning quite heavily toward placing Key higher on our ranks after rewatching his tape.
Wide Receivers
Another kid I’ve harped on coaches about. We’ll keep knocking on the door for opportunities. I’m positive things will come around, especially if Jaylen Andrews Jaylen Andrews 6’3″ | 180 lbs | WR Loyalsock Township | 2024 State PA keeps camping the way he is. Andrews brings forth a great blend of size and athleticism. Hardly a one-trick pony. Can eat underneath and make linebackers miss if need be. Enough wiggle in his game at 6’2 to keep all defenders honest when attempting to bring down in the open field. Incredible production too, currently un-offered.
Could be on this list at DB too. A top 100 prospect who I’ve stood on the table for. 6’2, 185, quality DB reps to the point where he could be a safety at the next level. Hands and athleticism too good to keep him bottled up on one side of the ball. Check previous posts for full evaluations. Should be a fit for local FCS programs, that was the floor I set for him after watching him work all Fall. We’ll see what happens moving forward. Unsure if he’s hit the camp circuit.
Highlights
I hear back from many FCS programs wanting to know more about Danny Dyches Danny Dyches 6’4″ | 185 lbs | WR Souderton | 2024 State PA . There’s a lot to like at face value. 6’4, 185 with a stride to his name. Ideal long-limbed build, one that helps him extend for catches and gain yards on DB when attacking vertically. He’s a promising jumper too, placing well as a high jumper and Triple Jumper. 1st-team All-League WR, Danny Dyches Danny Dyches 6’4″ | 185 lbs | WR Souderton | 2024 State PA could see a boost in stock sooner rather than later. Again, unsure if he’s been camping, although I got to see him lead as an alpha at the BUX-MONT showcase last month.
Highlights
Rashad McNeil Rashad McNeil 6’2″ | 175 lbs | WR North Penn | 2024 State PA is in the same boat as many listed above. FCS schools I’m close with all inquire on the young man. The interest is obvious, yet he remains un-offered at the time of writing. Hardly anything to panic about, as the kid can get back to dominating camps once he’s healed up. Said dominant camp showings could earn him FCS offers on the spot. 4.64 GPA posted by the soon-to-be senior. I’d get connected with him ASAP.
Tight Ends
Little bit of a head-scratcher here. 3.6, 3.7 Cum GPA. Plays in the Inter-AC. 6’4, 230 with quality reps at TE, FB, and LB. Has a moldable build that can be crafted to a coaches liking, whether said coach needs Brodnik to work either side of the ball. Tape earned him a Top 120 ranking from me back in January. Sean Brodnik Sean Brodnik 6’4″ | 230 lbs | TE The Haverford School | 2024 State PA is your ideal TE prospect, with a ton of versatility and upside to his game. Little strange that he hasn’t heard back from colleges yet, that could change in a matter of a week, that’s how good the kid is. I’ll continue to keep my eye on him moving forward.
Highlights
Things might not be as clear-cut with Johaan Hennigan as they are with Sean Brodnik Sean Brodnik 6’4″ | 230 lbs | TE The Haverford School | 2024 State PA . Hennigan is going to need to fit into a program’s system. I’m a fan of the young man as I’ve seen for my own eyes what he’s capable of. He might not flash desirable measurables, yet the kid is someone you’re going to want to keep an eye on in camps. He’s got a knack for wowing, both in a t-shirt or in pads. When he surprises coaches, I’ll be there to assure that he’s like that. He’s far from a finished product though. Currently unoffered.
Offensive Lineman
The highest-ranking unoffered prospect on our lists. We’ve harped on that notion for some time. I like McDonald as the best available option for programs looking to start new relationships with PA offensive linemen. I wouldn’t worry if McDonald goes the offseason without a scholarship offer from suitors. McDonald might have to buckle down and put forth dominant tape during his last campaign at Allentown Central Catholic. Eyes will be on the program this Fall, so the looks should be there.
Highlights
The fifth and final top 100 prospect listed in this piece. 5-minute tape full of quality reps at either guard spot. Center capable too. I’ve written evaluations of Shovlin in the past, so I won’t rewrite them here. The PCC roster brings in coaches from across the country, with 10+ prospects having over 1,000 Hudl views to their name, it’s a question as to why a 6’4 OL in this offense has just 110 views to his latest tape.
Only a matter of time before someone begins to reach out to LaSalle’s Lukas Donahue Lukas Donahue 6’3″ | 300 lbs | OL La Salle College | 2024 State PA . Speaking with many in the know, Donahue is going to get his in time. He lands on this list as one of the top five linemen in PA who I’d reach out to ASAP. I won’t back off the Division One grade I’ve placed on the young man, I’ve seen too much for my own eyes to over-think his ranking. Here are some reps from his recent performance at Duquesne earlier in the month.
Highlights
6’6, 290 pounds, interest from Syracuse as well as New Hampshire most recently. The size is a glaring positive. The Marple Newtown tackle prospect fits the Power Five build so many are looking for at the next level. You can question whether his tape is Power Five, of course, yet it’s tough to imagine schools aren’t keeping this kid on radar. I’m completely in the dark as to whether or not Andrew Kirlin Andrew Kirlin 6’6″ | 290 lbs | OL Marple Newtown | 2024 State PA has hit the camp circuit this Spring/Summer. Quiet socials aren’t an indicator that a young man isn’t working.
A new name makes the cut, that’s a first! Joey Polinski placing on this list should be a clear indicator that he’ll rank high after our update in July. Currently on WL, Berks Catholic’s athletic tackle prospect is finally on my radar. Wish I could have learned about this kid’s game a bit sooner, would have loved to push his name a bit further. Now will have to do. 6’5, a lean-cut 270 pounds. Carries a tight-end build, yet power and aggressiveness are that of a premier tackle. His tape wows, conveying to the watcher a smooth and efficient mover whose game translates to either tackle spot. At the next level, Polinsky will more than likely be utilized at TE or EDGE, yet that’s not a foregone conclusion. If Polinsky wanted to pursue OL, 15 extra pounds to his frame could help him win against FCS/FBS defenders. I think he could win at his current weight if I’m being honest. Either way, here’s a kid that needs more attention.
