He didn’t get to show off his sweet feet in pass pro too often, yet he was able to flex his muscles a bit in run-blocking sets.

Speaking of flexing their muscles, Coel Kozlowski was pancaking kids left and right in this one. Every time I could key in on the Explorer right tackle, he was driving a Crusader 5-10 yards off the ball. Can’t wait to peek at his senior tape, he might be due for a rankings boost. I got a chance to see Carroll pull two to three times in this one, he looked beyond his years in many ways. He sniffed out his assignment quickly while on the move, no hesitation through the gap. He hardly false steps out of his stance, he squares up quickly, he’s proving how athletic he can be with each passing week.

Yes, it’s been a rough two weeks for LaSalle, yet this team is too talented and well-coached to expect this losing skid to continue. His three-game tape actually shows something that I don’t see often, especially out of junior linemen. I think Donahue might be further along in pass-pro sets than he is in run-blocking, which is hard to come by these days. Donahue is still getting the job done when pulling and coming off the ball, but I am intrigued by his development as a pass protector. I hope he and the Explorers can turn things around fast.
