Current Recruiting Status: Hasn’t announced an offer in over 6 months. Not to say he hasn’t acquired any. Was once recruited by ACC schools, the likes of Boston College, Duke, and Pitt were all in on the pass-rusher’s potential. Blakey took an official visit to Pitt in June. Blakey took a visit to Buffalo back in September, things quiet since. The top-ranked uncommitted prospect. Would be a huge steal for a G5 or FCS program, arguably a class-defining steal.

first OV. Blakey reposted on X a post saying an “ACC school is the likely choice”, this makes sense with Pitt being his lone OV announced thus far. I wouldn’t count out Syracuse, Boston College, and Duke based on this notion alone, take it for what its worth. I’ve had the pleasure covering and providing exposure for the now top-five defensive lineman, no matter what he decides.

has begun snowballing just how I expected prior to the season. Pitt and Boston College stamped Blakey back in 2023, how has 2024 faired? The Malvern Prep Top 25 prospect has since secured offers out of New Hampshire, UConn, Army WP, Akron and Duke. Blakey, thanks to hard work in-house and a bit of exposure from the likes of me, has now cemented his recruiting status along side some of the best 2025s in the state.

Blakey is someone who is not nearly getting enough love outside of us here at PrepRedzone. There’s a lot to like about Blakey especially from a raw skill perspective and size perspective. He’s 6-foot-6 and still has a ton of room to grow into that frame. He has a good first step and great speed off the edge, he’s going to be one we think will continue to rise up boards across the country.

Anyone paying attention to ranking trends on PRZ knew this was coming. Started on Watchlist as a kid I was excited to see this past Fall. I knew who Blakey was training with in the offseason, I was in the know of how well Malvern Prep develops their young men in the weight room, I figured it was only a matter of time before

would catch the eye of important people in the recruiting world. I went ahead and ranked him relatively high, assuming we’d eventually see big-time programs inquire about the young man. I was right. Blakey’s tape, along with his build and athleticism has earned him a look from ACC programs that have come through MP this offseason. This snowball is likely to continue to get bigger heading into Spring of 2024. National Media members would have done right by getting on this kid early. I’ll stand pat knowing we had him on our lists beforehand. Huge congratulations are to Blakey as well, who cashed in on an offseason full of hype.

. 6’5, 210, excelling on the court and the track, you can’t help but see the number 88 and compare the two. It isn’t fair to expect 30+ offers to land on Blakey’s lap by this time next year, yet I wouldn’t be surprised to see Power Fives pull the trigger on the young man within the month. Very excited to get him ranked on the site.
