Naim Hammond Naim Hammond 6'3" | 230 lbs | EDGE/DL Malvern Prep | 2027 State PA is a crazy good edge defender from Malvern Prep. He had a strong Junior season wreaking havoc against opposing offenses. He also has the intangibles with great size (6’3″) and athleticism. He recently received offers from the Army, Massachusetts, and Akron. Hatmmond has plenty more left in the tank to grow as a player and get more offers as well.

6’3, 230 pounds, up ten pounds since the last time we updated his weight. 3.7 GPA. Self-labels as a DT/DE, registered 7 TFLs this past Fall.

Top 100 player among 2027 PA prospects prior to his film restudy. Recent film has Hammond showing coaches his awareness and athletic ability, reading an inside screen play call, catching the pass and going 20+ yards himself for a pick-six score. Hammond isn’t going to get recruited for his coverage skills, of course, but this is a fantastic view of his IQ and overall athletic prowess. Hammond replicates his first rep with yet another pick-six off a screen read, you don’t see that everyday. If he wants to play IDL or as a 3-tech at the next level, he’ll obviously have to bulk up this off-season and into the next, yet I’m excited about his ability to win inside against great IOL in the Inter-Ac at his current weight. Can shed with his hands when timed up with lateral movements. Can take on several OL and RBs alike and still produce TFLs and disruptions. In on several pass break-ups, again an extremely aware player. Division One grade provided. Coaches will explore what his true future position is. I predict DE in a three-man front, in a specific scheme.

I’m calling my shot here on Naim Hammond Naim Hammond 6'3" | 230 lbs | EDGE/DL Malvern Prep | 2027 State PA . The 6’3” 215 pound EDGE rusher has the burst and the violence to be a good defender, however I believe there’s building blocks for him to become a top EDGE not only in the state of Pennsylvania but on the entire east coast by the time his senior season rolls around. Hammond has a rare ability to get to the football, not just affect the passer, but affect the game as a whole. There is so many times watching him i’m left impressed with the hunger he has to chase down ball carriers, his relentless pursuit is something that adds on to the special burst he has. The size is adequate to be a 3-4 EDGE defender but also versatile to add more muscle weight to become a 4-3 DE. There’s worlds of potential in Hammond and I really hope a program takes interest in him.
