If we didn’t cover your favorite Malvern Prep standout in today’s article, don’t worry, we plan to come back to the Rams down the road to take a look at more of their underclassmen this offseason.
Smith is one of the better qwuarterback prospects in the state and I was excited to see what type of step he could take from 2022 to 2023. After watching the junior film and considering the level of talent that Malvern Prep played this season, I came away quite impressed. There are a few things mechnically and fundamentally that he’ll have to work out to be successful at the next level but nothing that is majorly concerning. Smith throws the ball with a good zip and is accurate to all levels of the field. He likes to throw it a bit side arm at times in the intermiedaiet game where the velocity he thorws with is really shown off. Like yesterday when we discussed Spring-Ford’s Matt Zollers Matt Zollers 6’4″ | 205 lbs | QB Spring-Ford | 2025 State PA , Smith is a quarteback who is great at improvising and using his legs to pick up valuable yardage and a first down. I think he would work well in many offenses at the next level but I do see a quarterback who could excel very well in a triple-option offense. That’s not a knock on him as a passer either, I think he could excel as well in any spread offense at the college level as well. To finish this one up, as a passer, Smith shows a lot of promise with his velocity and the touch he can put on passes to all levels and even on the run.
A bit of Mr. Do IT All, Pellicciotta is another player I could see working well in a variety of systems. He’s a pure athelte with good size, good athleticism, and superb football IQ on both sides of the ball. As a ball carrier, he shows off great vision with the ability to read and react quickly to defenders, he keeps his feet moving at all times and has fluid hips that allow him to change direction with ease. On the defenisve side of the ball, he’s a hard hiitting safety who is great against the run but ins’t too bad in pass coverage either. He could play on either side at the next level.
The Malvern Prep linebacker is one of the top linebackers in the entire state in the class of 2025 with a history of production. Bauer has good size and quality athleticism, what he doesn’t have in athleticsim, he makes up for well with strong play recongition skills and a high-motor. He projects more to a middle lineebacker at the next level in my opinion with hsi size and athelticism profile. He plays an intimidating style and one that opposing teams have to hate going up against thanks to his physicality. Strong pursuit skills and nice closing speed as well makes him a threat to rack up numberous takcles for loss.
Kumpon is rated as a tight end but I think he has the chance to play either side of the ball at the next level whether that be at tight end or at linebacker. His size probably allows him to project better as a linebacker notably at 6-foot-1. Kumpon is a good athlete overall who shows strong fundamental at both positions, the more I watch him, the more I probably like him at linebackert than at tight end. Qucik react-and-react skills at a linebacker. Quick to the balll and a very sound tackler, always wrapping up the ball carrier, acting much like a brick wall. Rarely does he allow a ballcarrier to pick up extra yards on his tackles. As a tight end, he’s a smooth route runner and presnts a nice target for his quarterbacks to hit. Strong and consistent hands.

We’ve seen continual growth out of Smith both physically and on the fieldw hich is all that we could’ve asked for the last few years. Still on the smaller side at 5-foot-9, phyiscality is not a problem for the Malvern Prep running back. He’s not afraid to run between the tackles or to the outside and he’s not afraid to be a blocker either. Smith plays much bigger than his actual size and has a strong burst to his game as well that allows him to be effecitve through the tackles. A slippery runner, he has fluid hips that allow him to change direction effortlessly and be elusive both in close quarters and in the open field.
Holmes has good size and quality speed to go along with. The 6-foot-1 / 6-foot-2 wide reciever has a reported 4.6 forty-yard dash time with a 4.4 shuttle. He’s also posted an 11.4 100 meter dash as well. Was really impressive this season as a junior for Malvern Pre. H’s a good route runner that’s quick off the line, that allows him to garner some pretty consistent and strong seperation from defenders. Good catch radius with the ability to make contested catches regulary, very good at high pointing the football when asked to as well. Has all the tools to be a reliable pass catcher at the next level.

Blakey is someone who is not nearly getting enough love outside of us here at PrepRedzone. There’s a lot to like about Blakey especially from a raw skill perspective and size perspective. He’s 6-foot-6 and still has a ton of room to grow into that frame. He has a good first step and great speed off the edge, he’s going to be one we think will continue to rise up boards across the country.

Really like what Borzillo brings off the egde for Malvern prep. He has really good size for the position but also has a quality first step and good speed coming off the edge. He also shows upside as a tight end as well.
