Don’t forget about De’Mari! He’s been putting up good numbers at Cass Tech since his freshman season. This season, I thought he’s looked excellent. A really good combination of speed and power, with excellent balance and high-end vision. The Cass Tech coaching staff has done a great job developing De’Mari, and I strongly beleive that De’Mari is a good Division 2 prospect at a minimum.

Likely the most talked about undersized player.
De’Mari has been taking significant Varsity snaps since his freshman season. As a matter of fact, he’s been excelling on Varsity since his freshman season. He’s extremely hard to tackle, and not only because of his size. De’Mari also sports excellent contact balance and agility- able to consistently gain good yardage even against the best run defenses.
Already having won one State Championship, De’Mari is looking for his second ring in three high school seasons!

I have been going to bat for De’Mari for almost a year now. I know everyone sees 5’5 and recoils, but I am telling you right now this dude has the stuff to be great. He reminds me of Nick Hill from Chelsea back in the day. He has that low center of gravity and balance that makes him tough to tackle.
Just watching his film from 2024, you’ll see pretty quickly that De’Mari has great vision and change of direction. You see multiple plays where he is patient and lets the play develop, and then hits the burners to get to the next level nearly untouched. Hendrix can do damage inside or out on the edge, just give him the ball and let him go to work. Hendrix has the chance to shatter what he did in 2024 going into next season.

De’Mari was the Cass Tech Varsity Starter this past season. Obviously, filling in that role for that program is a tremendous achievement. When I watched him against Southfield A&T way back in Week 1, De’Mari impressed everyone with his patience, vision, and overall good north-south running. He’s best utilized between the tackles, as he has a low center of gravity with great contact balance and vision. I also think he has some good explosiveness as he hits the hole. If he can train his athleticism, he’ll be a phenomenal back moving forward.

De’Mari is a shifty and elusive running back that can be an absolute game-changer on the football field. Coming out of the backfield, Hendrix can get the job done on the ground or through the air as a receiver. With the ball in his hands, De’Mari is a downhill runner who makes a habit out of running through defenders on long runs. Overall, De’Mari is an explosive athlete with big play ability. If he keeps this up, he is going to end up being one of the better running backs to come out of Michigan in the class of 2027.

Possibly the shortest prospect on the team, Hendrix may possibly be the most complete, pure Running Back on the team at the same time. When looking at Hendrix the comparison has to be made to NFL Pro Bowler, Saquan Barkley of the New York Giants. He’s a smaller, more compact Running Back that his West All-Star team offense looks to be Tailor-made for. Relying heavily on screens, quick passes and the big guy’s up front to clear the way, a Running Back that can hide behind the Offensive Line and suddenly pop out—like Hendrix does—should have a big day. He showed reliable hands out of the backfield and a low center of gravity when running with the rock in his hands. He’s a patient back who waits for the line to get out in front and then bobs and weaves his way behind them, up field.
