At 6-foot-3 190-pounds, Welch is a physically-gifted defensive back who roams the back end and closes quickly when the ball is in the area. He plays hard and was a standout defender for one of the best teams in the state. Now ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 63 DB prospect in the state, Welch is fresh off a respectable junior season in 2025 where he made 36 tackles, four TFLs and two INTs. He’s one of the Rams top returning defensive backs bound for a giant final season next fall.

His junior tape is outstanding and he has a chance to be one of Grayson’s top defenders once again in 2026.
