A big, physical lineman and an outstanding run defender, Wooten made a massive impact for one of the state’s top defenses last year, playing with good leverage and shedding blocks with ease against quality competition on a weekly basis. He’s continued to progress more and more and earned a major offer this week from the Ohio State Buckeyes. As good as he was last season as a sophomore, expect Wooten to have a possibly dominant junior season next fall. He’s currently ranked as the No. 6 DL prospect in the state for the 2027 class.

A big, powerful defensive tackle who can play low and get leverage on opposing linemen, Wooten was a force in the middle of one of the state’s top defenses last year as a sophomore. He plays hard and gives good effort for someone his size with the ability to blow up a play in the backfield if not blocked properly. As a sophomore, playing against outstanding opponents on a weekly basis, Wooten made a big impact with his 29 tackles, four TFLs and one sack. He made things easier for everyone else and should have an even bigger junior season next fall. He’s one of the state’s top 2026 defensive line prospects with an impressive offer list, and today he earned a new one from LSU.

Another promising defender with a compact frame, a high-motor, and big-play potential, Wooten plays for an outstanding Grayson team ad a staff that should turn him into a possibly game-changing lineman next year as a junior. He’s having a strong sophomore season this year, but his potential and ability for growth is easy to see. He’s already an impactful player, but his best football is still years ahea of him. College coaches know it, and offers are flowing in. This fast-rising sophomore has seen new offers come his way from Southern Cal and Texas A&M so far this month. His stock is on the rise, and his Prep Redzone is as well.

A fast-rising Gwinnett County defensive lineman on the rise out of Grayson, Wooten is seeing his recruitment take off over the last several weeks and earned a new SEC offer recently from South Carolina. He appears to be the next great Rams defensive lineman and certainly brings a good frame to the position at 6-foot-2 and already 300-pounds. He’s big, strong, and has made a massive impact already for one of the top programs in the state. He’s done it as a sophomore, too. Through his first five games, Wooten has made 12 tackles, two TFLs and one sack. Look for Wooten to see a big increase in his Prep Redzone ranking along with more college offers coming his way.

A coachable competitor with a complete game. Waylon holds an offer from Clark Atlanta and will hold a lot more in the near future. With a quick get off, Waylon finds himself underneath many offensive lineman who shoot their hands too high. He displays playing fast with great pad level and push. This kid is smart and does not pre-determine his moves which makes him dangerous. (PRZ Next Watchlist)rn

Wooten is a little different than Hunter, as he is a violent interior guy with an excellent array of moves. He also has an explosive first step and seems to always win the leverage battle as he stays low and keeps his pad level under the offensive lineman. He beats you more with power and quickness, but is very polished that he does not have to rely on simply overpowering offensive linemen.

Waylon is another trench warrior coming out of the state of Georgia. He’s a prospect we’ve seen live many times over the last calendar year and each time we see him, he takes a bigger step up. Waylon has the potential to be one of the most sought after defensive linemen coming out of this class if he continues improving like this. At 6-foot-1 and 260-ish pounds, Waylon has an unreal ability to rush the quarterback, with his variety of different pass rush moves. With that being said, it is clear to see that Waylon lives in the backfield on almost every play. He’s already a well-known name in Georgia and should continue to see his stock rise.
