is one of the rising stars in Grimsley’s receiving corps and looks poised for a breakout season. I covered Davis at multiple 7-on-7 tournaments this spring, where he consistently earned Top Performer honors. His route-running is already at an elite level, creating outstanding separation at the top of his routes with sharp cuts and polished technique. Pair that with dependable hands—he catches just about everything thrown his way—and it’s easy to see why he’s becoming one of the most dangerous young receivers in the state. Expect Davis to play a major role in Grimsley’s offense this fall.
Davis is one of our only stock-risers who moved less on his offseason moves and more on a re-evaluation of the season. Grimsley has a strong freshman class, and to contribute at that age on a state-champion team, a player needs to be both physically gifted and mature. Davis looks like a guy who should continue to grow. Grimsley gets a couple of playmakers back from injury, so if Davis continues to be one of the top targets as a sophomore, we’ll know that he’s a guy to watch for several seasons.
Though the volume wasn’t very high behind three senior receivers, Davis looks every bit the next great Grimsley receiver. He excels at creating space in and out of his breaks, and from what we’ve seen, he has soft hands, as well. As he continues to grow, he should only become more dangerous.
Jordan Davis was uncoverable all weekend long. Arguably the fastest athlete at the tournament, he consistently created separation and made himself an easy target.
He catches everything with strong, reliable hands and shows toughness through contact. What really stands out is his feel for the game—he understands how to sit in space and exploit zone coverages.
Dynamic, dependable, and a constant problem out of the slot.
Davis isn’t the biggest guy, but he was a contributor for one of the top offenses in the state. He’s a technical route-runner with speed to get behind the defense. He also has sure hands, and it shouldn’t be a surprise that he was able to make an impact for Grimsley.
