When a guy starts at left tackle as a sophomore for a state champion known for its physicality up front, you have to pay attention. Delk is a big dude who moves well and is a balanced tackle, performing well both as a run blocker and in protection. The Grimsley offensive line loses key pieces elsewhere, so not only will he be a more experienced blocker, but he’ll need to be a leader of that line in 2026.

Any time a player can start at left tackle for the 7A State Champion, you know that guy has some special qualities. He’s one of the strongest linemen in the state, especially in the running game, and he can cave the entire side of the defensive line on outside zone runs. He’s a developing pass-blocker with decent reach, and we expect him to continue to grow a bit into a college tackle. Even if he doesn’t, the movement and strength make him an ideal college guard, as well.

While Delk will be looking to raise his ceiling with improvement as a pass-rusher, he already has the quickness — even at 280 — to shoot gaps and disrupt offenses in the running game. That trait gives him a high floor as young, talented run-defenders are hard to find. Delk is an intriguing prospect at 3-technique, thanks to his size and quickness, and we think he could take the next step.

Delk is a high-upside 3-technique who already excels against the run, even against established teams. He had a great game against Grimsley last season, even in a losing effort. He’s quick, especially for his size and doesn’t look like a freshman. He’s refining his technique and flashed some pass-rushing moves last season. He’s a guy we think will continue to develop.
