back in the summer after watching him for literally 30 minutes at Carl Albert’s team camp. Young looked like a prospect that was ready to explode this season and after missing almost all of his junior season, he’s made up for the lost time this fall. Young is a prospect that is still very raw but you can already see him turning the corner of becoming that dominant presence at the linebacker position. Young has been a big part of Carl Albert having arguably the best defensive unit in the state, regardless of class this fall. His recruitment has also started to pick up this season and he could get a few more offers before the early signing period in December. Young is definitely a guy who could be a lot higher when we look back on this class in a few years.

The Titans have their fair share of absolute studs on the defensive side of the ball but senior

is a name that might not have the attention as some of the others. But if he stays healthy this fall, it won’t take long for him to be considered in the same discussion as those other guys. Young showed flashes of being a standout defender last season but injuries plagued what could have been a breakout junior season. A few days after his best game in 2023, Young would get hurt and his junior year was effectively over. But he had a fantastic track season and performed really well during spring football and is primed for a big 2024 season.

is the top-rated newcomer in the latest ranking update. And Young is already a borderline top 30 overall prospect and he could end up higher. Young missed a lot of last season with an injury but when he’s out on the field and healthy, he has the potential to absolutely blow up. He really impressed us when we caught him in action during team camp in May. And this came a few weeks after having a very successful track season. Young could see his recruitment take off with a healthy senior season. Based on the limited sample size we have, he’s a guy who could end up at the next level.
