PRZMN 2029 Rankings Update: Top Newcomers and New Additions

PrepRedzoneMN is stoked to finally have the 2029 class and its Big Board officially updated! In a state usually known for its front-seven prospects, the MN 2029 class is absolutely stacked to the brim with incredibly promising skill talent, many already possessing eye-catching verified athletic numbers and excellent in-person live exposure points as rising sophomores in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Additionally, and as always, the class is filled with OL and DL with can't-miss measureables and promise, and it's more than time for PRZ to dig our hands into from an evaluation standpoint. Get to know some of the Top Newcomers, New Additions, and unevaluated studs from Minnesota's 2029 class of prospects. Enjoy!   --    If you haven't heard, the 4A football co-op SMB has some serious talent coming up the pipeline, and coming up fast I may add. With the Wolfpack's superstar 2030 QB [player_tooltip player_id='2231583' first='Carter' last='Cupito'] set to walk out of the summer as arguably the state's biggest winner, it's important to remember that a QB can only be as good as his receivers allow him to be. Lucky for SMB, the Wolfpack are home to some serious WR talent, with 2029 WR/TE [player_tooltip player_id='1583948' first='Adam' last='Regino'] challenging the pack in terms of recruiting ceiling. At this past April's heralded UA Chicago Combine, Regino measured in at 6'3, 206 lbs., and the standout freshman popped off a 4.99 laser 40, 1.82 laser 10, 4.63 shuttle, 100.0” broad (8'3"), and 23” vert.   Those promising athletic numbers also help put into context Regino's standout freshman campaign with the Wolfpack in MN's Class 4A ranks. The WR/TE hybrid earned serious varsity tick in his first year in high school, as he was a legit three-phase impact player with significant varsity reps on offense, defense (LB against BSM in section semis), and special teams, where he excelled on kickoff coverage. Regino displayed a big catch radius that can reel in receptions while both fully extended and in traffic, and his soft hands consistently catch the rock away from his body, no matter the situation. Especially for a freshman, and especially given the leanness, Regino impressed us with his contact balance from the 2025 season. Strong lower body that can step through weaker tackle attempts impressively easy for a then-freshman, and his nimble feet also flash some juice in the open field in his cuts. Regino can drop his hips, cut at top speed, and plant smoothly in space, showing off some open field elusiveness that's rare to see from a young buck at the varsity level of competition. Plus, this 2029er is an effective blocker from an inline TE or when flexed out, productive in kickoff coverage as a tackler, blocked a punt versus Richfield in impressive fashion, and is asset in man coverage from his LB spot. Easily undercuts passes and uses those natural ball skills to his advantage, and he also made a toe-tapping snag while his QB was on the run, showing off some body awareness and control on the offensive side of the ball as well. Led by [player_tooltip player_id='1651178' first='Brady' last='Reeves'], a 2028 TE/DE already holding a dozen D1 scholarship offers, the Pios are stacked with up-and-comers who own the ability to make some serious noise on both varsity 4A gridirons as well as the recruiting trail. A must-know name out of the 2029 class is one of these talents, and boy is [player_tooltip player_id='2246440' first='Tristan' last='Will'] a fun one, especially if you're a fan of multi-sport talent.   Will, a legit 6'+, 185 lber., is a stud hockey player, to say the least. One of the best in Minnesota's 2029 class, I should add. Will scored 12 points in 2025-26 for Hill-Murray's vaunted varsity hockey squad, which included 6 goals and 6 assists in HM's 2025-26 season that saw the lose to something called Gentry Academy 2-4 in the Section 4AA semifinals. Additionally, Will was the top scorer from the USA U16 national camp from 25th to July 1st, 2026, and he was drafted by Tri-City Storm of the USHL in the 6th round of the draft in May of 2026.   PRZMN got a good idea as to why Will is so successful in so many varsity sports despite his youth at one of this past June's Golden Gopher prospect camps in Dinkytown, where the Woodbury product produced near-elite testing & athletic numbers for his age and size, numbers I'll keep close to the vest as we ride into Will's sophomore campaign with the Pios.   In his 2026 film, Will proves he's a three-phase impact player with a plethora of varsity experience already under his belt going into 2026. A slot WR, RB, LB/DB combo, Will shows off his game-breaking homerun speed early and often in his freshman tape. With impressive burst and acceleration, Will also displays nifty open-field footwork, cuts, and elusiveness, effective stiff-arm and will use his weapon, and will run behind his pads as well. He's a dynamic weapon on offense who can catch the rock out of the backfield and get upfield quickly, and he returned a fumble for six against Chisago Lakes while on kickoff coverage to sweeten the pot. Will is also a strong 1v1 open-field tackler who will square you up and plant you on your keester, as well as a physical lead blocker who can open holes for his fellow tailbacks as well. I'm no hockey expert, nor hockey recruiting expert, but it's hard not to think this kid is a legit D1 hockey prospect already, with football lagging not far behind. Must-know name from MN's 2029 class of football and hockey prospects.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TWill2029/status/2076814626856071360 </div></figure>     Coming in hot and extra extra large, Minnesota's OL2 in the Class of 2029 represents the Class AAA ranks and tradition-rich Southern Minnesota co-op Plainview-Elgin-Millville. The Bulldogs produced an absolute mammoth of a Division 1 OT commit in the 2026 cycle in 6'7, 300+ lber. Carson Hynes, and PRZMN was ecstatic to learn that Hynes has a younger brother. This younger brother isn't little, however, and 2029 [player_tooltip player_id='2246032' first='Caden' last='Hynes'] also happened to be the Bulldogs anchor of a RT in 2025 on their varsity OL. Hynes also took significant reps at OC, which, to me, speaks to both his bend and his smarts, especially for a freshman and first-year starter, and he looks flexible and able to drop this hips well for his height and age. Not sure if he camped anywhere on the 2026 summer camp circuit, but the film is strong, literally, as Hynes displays a strong initial strike stuns DL, after which he displays the strength to backpedal DL after said initial pop, as well as really work them off the ball and out of a the gap. Hynes also flashes a solid, balanced, wide base, and I found myself really impressed by the balance, especially for his height and age. He gets up and under DEs and DTs off the snap and shows a bit of nastiness as a finisher after he works a DL onto the ground, which I like! This 2029 OL looks like a sophomore or junior on tape. Hard not to see a high ceiling here.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/CadenHynes15630/status/2070338098857226549 </div></figure>     Minnesota has lost some talent to the increasingly powerful high school transfer portal, but the Land of 10,000 Lakes has also gained some notable talent, one of which comes out of our recently-refurbished 2029 class. AND, to sweeten the pot, he comes from the talent-rich Sunshine State and my old stomping grounds of Ocala, Florida. A 2029 QB transfer from Ocala and the Forest High School Wildcats. Kaiser, although I am still working on confirming if he was the varsity starter or not last season, owns undeniable arm talent and eye-catching film, especially if it's at the varsity level of competition. As an introduction to the MN prep football scene, Kaiser manufactured a strong showing at the Golden Gophers' prospect camp in early June. Ryan Burns, GopherIllustrated lead, named him one of four QB standouts from the Gophers' first camp of the summer, stating "And then finally with Kaiser, the former Florida kid transferred to Chanhassen here this offseason. While he lacks ideal size at around 5'10, the mechanics and throwing ability for a young quarterback are there."   With a good live evaluation point already under his belt from a high-pressure, highly-competitive setting, Kaiser also owns some good film, where he displays himself as a mobile, dual-threat quarterback who can extend plays with his legs with smooth COD ability who can drop his hips and cut at a full sprint. Good pocket awareness, can climb the pocket but is also athletic enough to make rushers and defenders miss in space. Also athletic on the move and can throw off-platform with effectiveness. The righty also flashes good touch and can lead WRs away from danger, the arm strength to stretch the field with accuracy, either from inside or outside the pocket, and an impressively smooth, compact, quick delivery and release. Stays consistent in his mechanics, and you can really see his arm strength pop when he opens things up and stretches the field vertically. Plus, Kaiser can drop the ball in the bucket on fade routes, is able to put noticeable zip and spin on the ball when needed and called upon, and can fit the pigskin into tighter windows for a prep QB as well. Additionally, the Florida product is a tough kid that will lay his body on the line and sacrifice his well being for the sake of the squad. Can't wait to see this QB lead the Storm in 2026.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/29kaiserjake/status/2068399567687619004 </div></figure>     The 2029 class is filled with multi-sport talent and bloodlines, with athletic younger brothers headlining the top tiers of the Big Board, and the two factors converge in Mahtomedi with standout [player_tooltip player_id='2141541' first='Grady' last='Torgrude']. At 6', 180 lbs, Torgrude was playing in the non-varsity ranks of Maht's high-powered, state championship-winning baseball team from this past season, and he's also the brother of Mahtomedi 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1607795' first='Luke' last='Torgrude'], one of the most explosive rising seniors in the state and arguably its best kickoff returner.   The younger Torgrude earned varsity minutes with the Zephyrs during their section run in the backend of the season, but the majority of his freshman campaign was spent in the non-varsity ranks, where he was flat-out dominant. Not to mention productive. Torgrude, on offense, totaled nine runs of over 50 yards, 15 TDs, 12 rushing, three of which came from kickoff returns. Torgrude owns game-breaking, home run speed can split a defense open at whim and helped him score multiple TDs in 2025 without even being touched, and he's an obviously explosive kickoff returner (3 TDs) that can hit the hole and go, as well as make that first coverage defender miss and create a crease.   The freshman uses and manipulates space well, does a good job of bouncing the rock to the sideline and taking advantage of a defender's poor pursuit leverage, and owns noticeable contact balance and bumped some defenders off his lower body as well. Defensively, Torgrude was a ball hawk from the secondary but also flashes range and play speed around the box. He lived in opponents' backfields in 2025 and was a disruptive blitzer who diagnoses, reads, and triggers on the ball quickly and always with pace. Maple Grove has been a recent linebacker factory with prospects heading to all levels of college football besides P4, we've been hearing some exciting buzz surrounding this Crimson up-and-comer all offseason, and he solidified that buzz with a couple of strong evaluation points on the Summer Camp Circuit. Measuring between 5'10-5'11, Hansegard went 4.5 flat at 2026 St. John's University prospect camp and added a good showing at the Gophers' prospect camp in June, going 4.64 in the 40, 4.21 in the pro, and 9'8 in the broad jump. Plus, he owns PRs of a 275 lb. bench, 275 clean (on video), confirmed 34" vertical jump, and 365 x3 squat. No film, but this kid is athletic. Should be a fun debut season with the Crimson, though it may be a trial by fire, learn as you grow 6A experience.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/jakehansegard/status/2056472301432979930 </div></figure>     An under-the-radar rising sophomore WR from a traditional WR factory in Wayzata High School, [player_tooltip player_id='1734212' first='Liam' last='Mcnally'] is going to make his entrance felt whenever his introduction to the high school scene occurs. Mcnally made his personal introduction to PRZMN at our winter showcase this past December, where his violent, twitchy, and effective route running skillset proved itself to be one of the best in attendance, regardless of class. Mcnally could separate at the LOS or at the top of the route, and he also blew the roof off testing, measuring verified PRs of a 4.63 40, 4.34 shuttle, 9'5 broad x2, and 6.99 L-drill. No tape, but if he's been working hard since the winter then he's poised to make some serious waves in the new-look Wayzata program. Buy stock now.   X account: @Liam_c_McNally     It's honestly a bit unbelievable how athletic the Moorhead Spuds' 2026 roster is. Besides the eye-catching four P4 commits, not to mention [player_tooltip player_id='1292632' first='Drew' last='Kessel'], the NDSU commit who earned nine P4 offers over the course of his recruitment, including from Michigan, the Spuds' up-and-comers are nearly as interesting of a group, filled with size, crazy track times, and legitimate multi-sport recruitability. Amongst the fold sits a young rising sophomore by the catchy name of [player_tooltip player_id='2222978' first='Courage' last='Sayiah'], who is fresh off an impressive freshman outdoor track & field season with Moorhead that saw him PR with an impressive 44'9.5" triple jump, already the third-best triple jump in Moorhead High School track & field history. He added a 19'5.5" long jump PR in 2026 as well, as well as a self-reported 11.5 100M PR. No film, but PRZDAK Lead Scout [player_tooltip player_id='1292716' first='Nate' last='Wahl'] is fresh off seeing Sayiah at the recent Valley City State Prospect Camp, where he popped off a 4.9 40 and 9'9" broad, as well as an indy and 1v1 performance putting him up there as one of best WRs in attendance. The second-highest ranked 2029 on the recently-updated PRZMN Big Board, DL [player_tooltip player_id='2155070' first='Duke' last='Wright'] sure has some tools to work with going into his sophomore campaign with the Cadets. Not a lot of information available on the youngster, but judging from the film and the reported metrics, Wright owns great size, strong hands that can shed blocks and disengage from OL with ease, and can load his hips and explode off the ball well as a freshman. The certified non-varsity run stuffer has some reps showing off an explosive get-off and the speed to haul down a RB from the backside of a play, and he flashes some noticeable play speed for his size and can pressure and hurry QBs as a rusher. As a 5T and 3T, his big body can absorb and eat contact from sometimes multiple OL and blockers in freshman competition, and he even blocked a punt versus Burnsville to showcase his playmaking ability. Very eager to see if he cracks the varsity lineup for STA in 2026.   @dukewright2029     Speaking of promising bloodlines in the MN 2029 class, PRZMN was absolutely thrilled to learn that there is another Tappe coming up through the pipeline of Staples-Motley's football and baseball ranks. The younger brother of Mr. Do-it-All MSU-Mankato baseball commit Colbe Tappe, who was a heckuva prep athlete on the gridiron, wrestling mat, and baseball diamond, his younger brother has some juice as well, and is RHP/MIF/OF running MASH 15u black and the Nike USA scout 15u baseball squads as a young buck. Additionally, on the gridiron with the Cardinals' varsity football team in 2025, Tappe was a varsity contributor who earned serious minutes thanks to the Cardinals' consistent ability to thump the competition and put up some serious discrepancies in the scoreline.   His varsity film showcases a bolt of lightning out of the Staples-Motley backfield and defensive secondary. Read-option, wildcat QB with serious juice with the ball in hand, Tappe is an electric ball carrier, especially for his age and size, and his great initial burst propels him into the second level of a defense in a blink. He identifies and takes advantage of space in a jiffy and flashes a good understanding of how to manipulate defenders in space and use the field and space to his advantage. Tappe also owns great vision, contact balance - especially for age and size, and creative and effective footwork in the open field. The 5'11, 160 lber. does a great job of bouncing the rock to the outside and taking advantage when he takes the edge or an opponents' sideline, and he also doubles as a explosive kickoff returner who can see and take advantage of space in a coverage unit. Took a kickoff back for six against Wadena-Deer Creek for good measure. The three-phase impact player also proves himself as a FS with defensive range who can run the alley and close quickly in space, and he handled kickoff coverage to show off his multi-phase utility. Also owns a violent stiff-arm, technically sound and smooth in man coverage from his safety spot, and he even has some reps proving he can move the ball with his arm. Buy stock now! A standout and top performer from our PRZMN Spring Showcase with verified size and intriguing testing/athletic numbers backing his game, Jones, in his one minute of game film from 2025, non-varsity ball, against Chaska, shows off a fun combination of footwork and contact balance as a ball carrier. The size stands out on tape, he runs the alley with pace, tackles at the contact point with authority, and we love the closing speed for his size and age. Jones is also an excellent improvisor and scrambler from the QB position. The young Wildcat looked and played like a varsity player amongst young bucks and JVers in his 2025 film, and he was bouncing off tacklers like they're bowling pins during his impressive freshman campaign in the 6A non-varsity ranks. Sisk can cut at top speed and sent some defenders flying by him or spinning in a full rotation thanks to their weak arm tackles, and his homerun speed can capitalize and finish big runs once he's given the space and daylight. Sisk displays the contact balance + power to run over, step through, and work over multiple tackle attempts in a single rep, and non-varsity defenders were making visible business decisions and choosing not to square up the young tailback. He also is an excellent 1v1 tackler in space with sideline-to-sideline pursuit range and speed. Plus, Sisk threw a TD pass against Farmington and is a bruiser of a LB and run stuffer in-between the tackles and around the box. Easy to see a breakout debut season for Sisk with the Wildcats' varsity next fall, especially given the weight room numbers he's posting this offseason. He also has some of the best athletic numbers backing him, as Mbenza posted a 11.32 100M, 23.32 200M, and was a member of Wayzata's 45.45 PR 4x100 relay team from this past spring as well.   The kid is no slouch on the gridiron as well, as Mbenza proved himself to be a deep threat with homerun speed as a route runner and after the catch. He also displays ball skills and is a rangy MOF defender from his FS spot. The verified speed also allows him to hawk down loose ball carriers far downfield, an asset for his team and defense, and he's a good tackler in space who works for the turnover and naturally rips and punches at the football when the ball carrier is held up. Mbenza is also a mean, physical blocker on the perimeter for his tailbacks with some lethality as a gunner on punt coverage.
