PRZMN hasn’t been shy about our admiration for Hill–Murray’s roster, and in particular, 2029 Tristan Will Tristan Will 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Hill-Murray School | 2029 State MN . One of the best multi-sporters in the state, Will has earned a ton of attention this offseason thanks to his exploits as a hockey prospect at a somewhat recent USA Hockey National 16 Camp, not to mention the fact he got drafted in the 6th round of the annual USHL Draft by the Tri-City Storm.

Possessing some of the best verified athletic numbers of any underclassmen in the state, Will was a playmaker and game-breaker as a freshman in 2025, and he picked up right where he left off in Minnesota’s Week 1 when Hill-Murray battled Chisago Lakes to a 49-0 victory.

Showed off some explosiveness as a kick returner, made a great TD catch down the seam, good snag, stepped through a tackle attempt as well. Has really added strength and physicality as a tackler during the offseason, made a big 1v1 tackle out on the edge, driving the ball carrier backward and winning at the contact point. Also planted a would-be tackler on his butt thanks to a mean, effective stiff arm, then followed it up by lowering his pads and trucking another defender’s helmet right off his head in dramatic fashion.

Hill-Murray has one of the most talented 2028 and 2029 batch of prospects in the state, which doubles as one of the top overall offensive backfield and skill groups I am most excited to see going into the season. There’s a surplus of names to know coming out of the Pio’s recruiting ranks, including QB Brayden Hartmann Brayden Hartmann 5'9" | 180 lbs | QB Hill-Murray School | 2029 State MN , RB/LB Grady Buettner, TE/DE/ATH Brady Reeves Brady Reeves 6'3" | 215 lbs | TE/DL Hill-Murray School | 2028 State MN , and WR/DB Jacob Dornan Jacob Dornan 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB/WR Hill-Murray School | 2028 State MN , and WR/OLB Silas Deziel. However, of all the fun skill names to watch, I am maybe most excited to get a first-look at 2029 Tristan Will. The multi-sport hockey extraordinaire who we covered recently for his exploits during the 2026 Summer Camp SZN as well as a recent USA Hockey National 16 Camp, not to mention the fact he got drafted in the 6th round of the annual USHL Draft by the Tri-City Storm.

Will possesses a combination of verified speed, quickness, and explosiveness numbers that really speak to his next-level athleticism far above that of your normal 2029, hence the reason he is able to still shine in best on best settings on both the gridiron and ice. With the HM’s Class 4A status, the Pios‘ roster isn’t the biggest in the state, so I’m hoping Will has earned himself a big chunk of reps, ball-carrying opportunities, and playmaking potential for the talent-rich, Metro-area private school contender. Could 2026 be the year of the Pioneer?

You can’t begin talking about a Hill-Murray football player right now without first mentioning the Pioneers‘ star-studded bucket of underclassmen talent. Led by Brady Reeves Brady Reeves 6'3" | 215 lbs | TE/DL Hill-Murray School | 2028 State MN , a 2028 TE/DE already holding a dozen D1 scholarship offers, the Pios are stacked with up-and-comers who own the ability to make some serious noise on both varsity 4A gridirons as well as the recruiting trail. A must-know name out of the 2029 class is one of these talents, and boy is Tristan Will Tristan Will 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Hill-Murray School | 2029 State MN a fun one, especially if you’re a fan of multi-sport talent.

Will, a legit 6’+, 185 lber., is a stud hockey player, to say the least. One of the best in Minnesota’s 2029 class, I should add. Will scored 12 points in 2025-26 for Hill-Murray’s vaunted varsity hockey squad, which included 6 goals and 6 assists in HM’s 2025-26 season that saw the lose to something called Gentry Academy 2-4 in the Section 4AA semifinals. Additionally, Will was the top scorer from the USA U16 national camp from 25th to July 1st, 2026, and he was drafted by Tri-City Storm of the USHL in the 6th round of the draft in May of 2026.

PRZMN got a good idea as to why Will is so successful in so many varsity sports despite his youth at one of this past June’s Golden Gopher prospect camps in Dinkytown, where the Woodbury product produced near-elite testing & athletic numbers for his age and size, numbers I’ll keep close to the vest as we ride into Will’s sophomore campaign with the Pios.

In his 2026 film, Will proves he’s a three-phase impact player with a plethora of varsity experience already under his belt going into 2026. A slot WR, RB, LB/DB combo, Will shows off his game-breaking homerun speed early and often in his freshman tape. With impressive burst and acceleration, Will also displays nifty open-field footwork, cuts, and elusiveness, effective stiff-arm and will use his weapon, and will run behind his pads as well. He’s a dynamic weapon on offense who can catch the rock out of the backfield and get upfield quickly, and he returned a fumble for six against Chisago Lakes while on kickoff coverage to sweeten the pot. Will is also a strong 1v1 open-field tackler who will square you up and plant you on your keester, as well as a physical lead blocker who can open holes for his fellow tailbacks as well. I’m no hockey expert, nor hockey recruiting expert, but it’s hard not to think this kid is a legit D1 hockey prospect already, with football lagging not far behind. Must-know name from MN’s 2029 class of football and hockey prospects.
