Best Skill Position Breakout Performers from UND Flagship Camp 1

Wednesday night, after a D3 camp in St. Paul, PrepRedzone hit the road for the five hour drive to beautiful Grand Forks, North Dakota. No, it wasn't just to go to Burger Time or Red Pepper, although I did patronize both establishments, this drive was made to attend the University of North Dakota's first Flagship Prospect Camp of the summer of 2026. And boy, was the drive worth it! Split into linemen, specialists, and skill talent, the Fighting Hawks' Flagship Camp was action packed from start to finish, and Session 2, which involved the skill positions, was electric from the first to last whistle of the afternoon. Jittery receivers, sticky DBs, dynamic RBs, bruising LBs, and a couple talented gunslingers for good measure! Check out the Recruiting News, First Looks, "Worth Noting" Performances, and more from UND's first Flagship Camp of the summer.   --   Alpha Dog:    Hard to believe this kid is on the PRZNE 2027 watchlist! Coming out of the ultra-talented and very much underrated Omaha area of high school football talent, Rashaun "Shaun" Hall was in our opinion, the best pure skill talent at UND's first Flagship Prospect Camp of the summer. After producing very green numbers testing, with one of the better triple broads that we've seen (Hall was simultaneously explosive yet floating during his final jump, and it produced some audible gasps from his peers watching the jump in envy), and - because I want this dude to get his due on the recruiting scene - went 4.46 and 4.43 in the 40.   Hall then transitioned well and lived up to the hype during competition, proving himself to be the best WR, best route runner, and best athlete during the camp's brightest spotlight. With obvious burst, footwork at the LOS, and effective explosiveness, Hall put on a route running clinic versus some very impressive DBs in attendance, showing shiftiness throughout his route, concise footwork and short-area quickness, and burst out of his breaks and cuts. The Nebraska product could also change tempo and was overall silky smooth at the top of the route. Bemidji State, Northern State, Sioux Falls, MSU-Mankato have all offered this Summer Camp SZN.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TheShaunHall/status/2065862455071264984 </div></figure>    Recruiting News    Gotta love a good ol' camp performance and commitment. If you've been reading PRZMN lately, you already know we've been talking up the Aitkins Gobblers and their recent trend of eye-catching, athletic, and dynamic multi-sport products. Well, a 2027 Gobbler just hit gold. As did the University of North Dakota, who offered, and earned the ensuing commitment, of the talented rising senior. Coming in at 6'2+, 235 lbs., Fulton proved why he's one of the state's best hockey players and goal scores, showing eye-catching athleticism for his size to back up the utility and dynamic skillset. I loved the COD ability and hip flexibility during drill work, and Fulton really stepped up during padded competition, owning opponents at the contact point thanks to his initial pop before driving them backward and occasionally into the ground after running his feet. Did well both blocking and defeating blocks thanks to the physicality, pad level, and balance. I could see Fulton projecting to a couple different potential spots for the Hawks. My pick for the #1 contender for the 6A title going into the season, the Spuds have seen another top-end prospect emerge during this current Summer Camp SZN in 2028 linebacker Aaron Dinukar. A physically-imposing, well-built 6'1, 220 lber., Dinukar was quite the eye-catcher up in Grand Forks, both in testing, drill work, indy, and competition. The Moorhead product could flip hips and generally transition and change direction fluidly and without wasted movement, and he was a Front-of-the-Line and intense competitor who could break at 45 degrees impressively quickly. Additionally, Dinukar was closing and squeezing space on ball carriers in a flash, something that paid off well during competition, and throughout the time the skills were padded, Dinukar added a noticeably physical edge to his play. Unsurprisingly, the rising junior earned the hosting UND offer thanks to his performance at the camp.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/A_Dinukar/status/2065241713141072029 </div></figure>     LB1 in the upcoming 2029 class is honestly one of the better linebackers in the entire state, especially in terms of collegiate projection. A PRZMN Showcase alumnus whose size, length, and athleticism are far from your typical front-seven defender, Kratochvil was competing in a LB that had some serious Big Dogs involved, and he looked and played the part along with rising seniors and juniors in terms of mobility, positional-specific drill work, and rising to the occasion when competition rolls around. Kratochvil could drop his hips and break at 90 degree angles well, bend, and was playing with intensity and a First-in-Line attitude. He put the tools to good use during 1v1 action, and especially in pass defense, where the 200 lber. was dynamic and used his length to his advantage. Stay on the lookout for Pequot Lakes the next few seasons.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/VinceKrat/status/2065224441894707282 </div></figure>     One of the biggest winners out of North Dakota's First Flagship Camp of the summer came out of Colorado and a talented Valor Christian program that I keep running into on the recruiting trail. Rising junior DB [player_tooltip player_id='1572704' first='Cody' last='Dean'] kickstarted his recruitment in a big way, earning his first Division 1 offer from the hosting Hawks thanks to a prolific performance in every phase of the camp. With the athleticism to play man coverage at the D1 level, Dean took a ton of reps during 1v1s, coming away with 3 INTs during, one of which was memorable, to say the least, as he made the contested pick with the WR draped all over him. We also saw Dean's smooth INT on a WR's deep out route, which came in impression fashion. He also made a pick on the best WR in attendance, who was as fast as he was good at running routes, and Dean overall was physical at the top of the route and able to disrupt WRs timing and path throughout their breaks. Plus, the top-end speed and twitch allowed him to stay in a wideout's hip pocket consistently, and his breaks were clean, quick, well-timed, and physical. He also showed he could smoothly and easily swivel his hips prior during drill work. Additionally, Dean showed ball skills and was comfortable tracking and playing the ball in the air, especially the deep ball. However, I believe what really put Dean over the edge in terms of earning the offer was how coachable he was. From rep to rep, Dean was coming off the field, listening to the coaches and UND players coaching him up, and applying it rep to rep. It was fun to watch, and the rising junior's overall body of work made for one of the most memorable days of this young man's life. Fairview High School WR [player_tooltip player_id='2061128' first='Tommy' last='Bauer'] was showing off his raw, unmitigated, ultra-effective speed at the UND first Flagship Camp of the summer, both during testing and 1v1 competition. One of the fastest players in attendance, Bauer was repeatedly burning DBs on fades, posts, and vertical routes, so much so that he had to slow down to track the football and was outrunning his QB's deep balls. Bauer also had a beautiful contested catch on one of the best DBs in attendance, was bendy and explosive, and even got a bloody nose from blocking tough during half-skelly work. This dude earned every bit of his North Dakota FCS scholarship offer.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TommyBauer09/status/2066977646630568312 </div></figure>    First Looks    The Show-Me State churned out one of the best performers from North Dakota's First Flagship Camp of the summer. No surprises either, as this stud came from the always-stacked Lee's Summit area of the Kansas City metro and Lee's Summit North High School. Rising senior Logan Mayfield was an Alpha Dog during 1v1, putting together and outstanding performance that highlighted some hard-to-find comfortability in man coverage and press man as well. Mayfield was an impressive combination of size, quickness, and speed, but the nuance of his coverage ability was especially impressive and is what produced the best and stickiest DB performance of the Session 2. Mayfield's size, physicality, and hand-fighting ability was constantly disrupting and impacting wideouts throughout their route, and Mayfield generally seemed like he knew what route was coming, plus his calm, competitive demeanor had him stepping up for rep after rep, especially against the best wideouts there. His deep speed, as well as comfortability playing the deep ball and overall ball skills were shining through impressively in Grand Forks. I'm a big fan of Missouri high school football and prospects like Mayfield are a great representation as to why. Show-Me State kids are real-deal athletic and thrive in competition.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Loganmayfield17/status/2065916018984185927 </div></figure>     Reppin' the great state of Wisconsin, Kewaunee's Diesel Bosdeck was an easy First Team All-Eye Test selection out of the talented DB group that assembled at North Dakota's first Flagship Camp of the summer. He also had the game to match, showing a ton of overall range, advantageous and disruptive length in pass coverage, and quick for his size. The speed and burst, not to mention great frame, are some high-quality tools to potentially play safety in college, and the Wisconsin native was overall comfortable and effective in man coverage to sweeten the pot. Bosdeck produced a couple eye-catching PBUs throughout the 1v1 portion of the camp, as well as an electric contested catch, 50/50 ball INT that had the UND DBs in attendance absolutely hyped. One of the plays of the day, no doubt.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/DBosdeck/status/2065215501924536418 </div></figure>     Technically not our first evaluation or look at DGF's [player_tooltip player_id='2122194' first='Michael' last='Whitney'], but it was PRZMN's first time seeing the long, rangy future LB (need to update his position on the Big Board) in pads and in a physical, competitive setting. Whitney showed off some noteworthy tools and traits that would lend one to think he could really hit his stride at the college level. Good showing in every phase of UND's first Flagship Camp of the summer that was impressing in a variety of ways and was impressing both the coaching staffs in attendance and UND's players throughout the day. Picked off some passes during 1v1s to highlight his dynamic, three-down ability from the LB position, and his change of direction ability was impressive and effective at a verified 6'3, 195 pounds. Also proved he could flip his hips, was laterally agile, and overall rangy and covered ground in his movements, not to mention quick. There were a lot of eyes watching Minnetonka's [player_tooltip player_id='1570002' first='Kirion' last='Vogel'] at North Dakota's first Flagship Camp of the summer. This was particularly true during testing, where Vogel was due to follow up on his 4.4 40 times from the Gophers' prospect camp in Dinkytown. Well, two 4.52s sure highlighted the young man's speed, and Vogel was continually impressive during drill work, indy, and 1v1 competition. Vogel was extremely twitchy as a route runner and generally in his movements, and he was able to sink his hips smoothly and eye-catchingly low, not to mention explosive, with a significant amount of burst out of his breaks and when working vertically. During 1v1s, he had some of the better DBs in attendance absolutely twisted at the top of the route, and he was consistent and impressive under the deep ball, with ball skills and track ability in droves. The UND staff was especially impressed during a couple big wins and proper routes from this two-way dynamo. Augustana, Sioux Falls, Mankato State, Minnesota-Duluth, and Bemidji State have all offered in the past few weeks.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/KirionVogel/status/2065249405582618925 </div></figure>     Dakota kids have no problem camping across state lines, and the Great State of South Dakota was represented well in Grand Forks by Aidan Sievers. Sievers showed up well during competition, as he was a willing, physical, and effective blocker during half-skelly drills, and it was hard to miss his First Team All-Eye Test Frame, smooth, loose COD ability, and loose hips. Also a consistent performer during 1v1s, Sievers could plant, break, and separate, seemingly at will, and the ball skills and ability to high-point the football made for some impressive and eye-catching wins during 1v1s.     One of the best skill players in Wisconsin going into the fall, Bryce Austin was every bit of the hype and playmaker I heard about going into North Dakota's first Flagship Camp of the summer. A dynamic and effective route runner, Austin was sudden during drill work and in his change of direction and breaks, showed a ton of explosiveness and acceleration from a dead stop, and displayed no wasted movement as a route runner. He also owned and demonstrated noticeable and impressive body control when the ball was in the air and was one of the more consistent separators and playmakers during 1v1s.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BryceAustin27/status/2065227413714276797 </div></figure>    Misc.    One of the top testers and athletes from the first North Dakota Flagship Camp of the summer, Cedar Falls' product Carsen Gary is a bundle of dynamite from the WR position. This shouldn't come as a surprise, as Gary has popped off a couple of 10.8 100M PRs on the track, but the rising junior manufactured two 40s in the 4.5s and two shuttles in the 4.3s to highlight some real-deal athleticism that could significantly aid a college WR or DB room at the next level. Gary's deep speed made him one of the most explosive deep threats in attendance, and he also possessed ball skills, ball tracking ability, and some juice at the top of the route. I think it's about to be a massive junior season for this Cedar Falls' standout.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/CarsenGary/status/2065217515580522757 </div></figure>     Stock rising performance from my home state of Minnesota and 6A competitor Champlin Park. Karim has been some putting in some good work in the weight room and in his field work, and it paid off during 1v1s at the first UND Flagship Camp of the summer. Karim had a pretty lockdown performance from the CB spot, and with his verified size, length, and quickness, he was giving a talented WR group trouble and then some during 1v1s. Patient in his footwork and ability to stay square, Karim was physical and could catch and disrupt WRs at the top of the route, and we were also impressed how he was able to break down, drop his hips, and mirror wideouts in their breaks. Good day of work up in Grand Forks for this Champlin Park product.     Didn't get a complete nor full look at Minot product [player_tooltip player_id='1287892' first='Tariq' last='Bell'], but from what we could gather, consider PRZMN a fan. The rising senior wideout produced a 4.50 and 4.56 40 to kick off the camp, and he was downright nasty at the top of the route during 1v1s. With good size built on top of his verified measurables, Vanek caught the attention of PRZMN during 1v1 competition, as he was smooth and twitchy at the top of the route and able to create separation against some high-quality defensive back competition during 1v1s. Never seemingly lacking in size, Buffalo has a big, physical DB in rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='1288312' first='Reiker' last='Wignes'], who was a standout during 1v1 competition at the first University of North Dakota Flagship Camp of the summer. Wignes was able to close with quickness and effectiveness, not to mention physicality, and his length was also advantageous as he worked to maintain phase, as well as at the catch point. Parks was creating impressive separation on good defensive back competition, and he even put a couple of CBs in a blender at the LOS or at the top of the route thanks to his footwork and overall twitch. Parks' ability to accelerate and explode out of his breaks was working particularly well during 1v1s at UND's first camp of the summer. However, this QB was running with the wideouts in front of the Fighting Hawks, as well as seemingly 3/4 of the NSIC, up in Grand Forks. One of the best athletes in attendance, Breitbach produced a 4.51 and 4.53 to highlight his speed during testing, plus a 4.20 and 4.30 short-shuttle for good measure, and he was surprisingly dynamic and effective, yet unsurprisingly explosive, as a route running during 1v1s. He was burning some talented, athletic, and experienced DBs deep with ease, and his ability to track and play the ball in the air was more reminiscent of a seasoned wideout than a QB. Plus, he was bursting out of his breaks and separating at the top of the route with consistency.
