Bauer knocked it out of the park this combine. Measures in at 6’3 190-pounds with a 78.5” wingspan and a 9.5” hand size. He was top 5 in the 40-yard dash, first in the pro shuttle, and broad jump, and 6^th for L-drill. Bauer has very good athletic ability due to very good jumping, acceleration, speed, and change of direction. During the competition, he thrived. Used his very good release to consistently beat DBs. Very good separation quickness. He’d outrun them or use his body to come up with the contested catch. Very good ball tracking and catching. Uses his lengthy arms to pluck the ball and come down with the catch. He was putting DBs on notice all day long. He’s a phenomenal player who I project as a WR at the next level. Got D1 player written all over him.

Bauer has emerged as a reliable defensive back with the ability to take on a larger role moving forward. As a two-way contributor, he has already drawn attention from college programs and his performance on defense continues to elevate his profile. Bauer finished the season with 62 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and an interception, showing consistency and discipline in his assignments. He demonstrates strong coverage ability, using technique and positioning to limit opposing receivers and disrupt timing in the passing game. Bauer shows confidence when matched up against top targets and has the skill set to develop into a lockdown corner. With an expanded role on the horizon, he will have the opportunity to showcase his full range of abilities. A strong upcoming season could solidify his standing as one of the more notable defensive backs in the 2027 class.

At 6’3 180, Tommy Bauer Tommy Bauer 6'3" | 190 lbs | DB/WR Fairview | 2027 State CO has a good stature to play WR, CB, or Safety at the next level.  He shows long arms and high hips and solid hips to make agile moves at full speed and change directions at the top of routes.  Averaging 16.5 YPC this season, Bauer runs good routes and consistently attacks 50/50 balls at their highest point utilizing his length and frame.  At CB, Bauer is great in zone coverage, quickly adjusting to routes and utilizes his ball skills at WR as a CB as well.  Excited to see Bauer’s expanded role next season and see more film!

Bauer showcased the skill set that makes him one of the most intriguing upperclassmen corners in the state. His length, fluid hips and ability to stay in phase allowed him to eliminate passing windows throughout the game. Bauer came down with an interception that shifted momentum and added 11 tackles, proving he is just as committed in run support as he is in coverage. His tackling ability in space stood out, as he consistently closed on ball carriers with control and physicality. With a major test coming against defending champion Cherry Creek, Bauer’s ability to play disciplined, lockdown football will be critical. His growth this season has positioned him as a rising standout and his presence on the perimeter will be vital in Round 3.
