[player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] - Senior Quarterback - Jones

Jones senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] helped lead the Longhorns to a perfect 14-0 record and the 2A-1 state championship. Despite facing three-time defending champion Washington, Hansen and the Longhorns didn't back down in the title game and showed why they were the best team in the class all season. He led an offense that was borderline impossible to stop with his ability to torch defenses with his arm or his legs. Overall, Hansen threw for nearly 2,700 yards and 33 touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes. On the ground, Hansen also added 129 carries for well over 1,000 yards and 16 touchdowns. We've seen first-hand how Hansen can beat defenses in a variety of ways. As a junior, Hansen was getting used to being QB1 for the Longhorns after playing multiple positions during his sophomore season. And as a junior, Hansen was one of the better quarterbacks in the class but they were still looking to get over that hump. This season, Hansen and the Longhorns would not be denied. He played great all season and he was a key leader of a Jones senior group that was not going to come up short again. Hansen was just one part of their championship run but you take him off this Longhorn team and they look completely different.

[player_tooltip player_id='1328091' first='Cooper' last='McCord'] - Senior Quarterback/Linebacker - Adair

Adair went 14-0 and beat Vian in an instant classic for the 2A-2 championship. In that game, senior quarterback and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1328091' first='Cooper' last='McCord'] left everything he had on the field. He was a warrior for all 48 minutes and it was a perfect representation of the senior season he had. Offensively, McCord threw for nearly 2,600 yards and 38 touchdowns. He also added nearly 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. Defensively, he also had just shy of 100 tackles, two sacks, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He had a fumble recovery and an interception in the title game, in addition to all of his production on offense. McCord came into this season as one of the better small school two-way players in the state. And it became pretty obvious early on that he had reached a new level this season and the Warriors had a very special team. McCord has a gas tank that is never running on empty. It seems like he always has at least one more play in him, if not considerably more. McCord and the Warriors were not going to be denied, as they won the school's first state championship in a decade. The team's motto this season was "GRIT" and there is not a better example of that from one player than McCord.

[player_tooltip player_id='414994' first='Cord' last='Nolan'] - Senior Linebacker - Bixby

Bixby senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='414994' first='Cord' last='Nolan'] capped off his high school career with four consecutive state championships. Nolan got onto the field in his very first game of his freshman season. Fast forward four years and you have one of the most dominant linebackers in the state. Nolan and the Spartans finished this season with a perfect 13-0 record and another state championship. Nolan ended up leading the Spartans in tackles with 87 on the season and he also finished with 19 tackles for loss. But let's face it. When it comes to Bixby football, we could put several different players on this list. They are one of the best teams and overall programs in the country. So what makes Nolan this year's Bixby representative on a list that has now had a Spartan on it for six straight years? The thing that stood out in addition to the production and the eye test was this quote from head coach Loren Montgomery. "Cord is the alpha of this group." Think about that statement for a moment. Multiple P4 prospects in this year's class. Arguably the top if not one of the best overall prospects in the 2027 and 2028 classes. "Cord is the alpha of this group." That cemented Nolan in our mind as the pick for the Spartans. He's been a special piece to this Bixby program and continues the long line of dominant Spartan linebackers.

[player_tooltip player_id='473754' first='Cruz' last='Campbell'] - Senior Quarterback - Tuttle

Tuttle senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473754' first='Cruz' last='Campbell'] helped guide the Tigers to a 14-0 record and the 4A state championship. Class 4A was loaded with individual talent this season as three of the ten players here are from 4A. On the season, Campbell threw for over 3,100 yards and 42 touchdowns with only one interception. He completed 71% of his passes and also added three touchdowns on the ground. But the most important pass was the final one of his high school career. With his team trailing Elgin in the 4A title game, Campbell marched the team down the field and threw the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute to play. Campbell went 27-1 as Tuttle's QB1 over the last two seasons, with the only loss coming in the 2024 title game against Elgin. In our opinion, there aren't many quarterback prospects that have improved as much as Campbell did from his sophomore to junior season. And we've said this before but it deserves to be repeated. When we've watched Campbell up close and in person, everything he does on the football field looks incredibly easy. There's a reason why Tuttle had one of the highest scoring offenses in the state. They had a field general who worked with surgical precision and helped them capture another gold ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] - Junior Running Back - Carl Albert

There wasn't much debate on this one. Carl Albert junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] was the best player in Class 5A this season. He helped guide the Titans to another 14-0 record and another state championship. Back in August, we thought that Matthews had the ability to have a breakout season but we certainly didn't see this kind of production coming from the junior standout. Matthews finished with 254 carries for 2,033 yards and 44 touchdowns. The 44 touchdowns on the ground broke Xavier Robinson's single-season rushing touchdown record that he just set a few years ago. Matthews also threw three touchdowns and returned a punt for a score. Matthews was simply a touchdown machine this season for the Titans. In 9 of their 14 games this year, he had at least three rushing touchdowns. He scored in every single game and again, when you're breaking a rushing record at a program like Carl Albert, you're clearly the best player in Class 5A for that season. Matthews is also one of three underclassmen that are featured on this breakdown. He's already hungry to chase his own record in 2026 and help guide the Titans to another state championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='1525562' first='Greydon' last='Howell'] - Junior Quarterback - Broken Bow

In the spring of 2024, Broken Bow junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1525562' first='Greydon' last='Howell'] was finishing up his freshman year. He hadn't played football in two years but rejoined the football team to help out the new coaching staff. In the fall of 2024, he became one of the biggest breakout stars in Oklahoma. In the fall of 2025, he firmly established himself as one of the best players in the state of Oklahoma. Howell finished his junior season with over 2,800 yards and 27 touchdowns while also adding over 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground. Howell is as close to the true definition of a "dual-threat" quarterback because he is equally able to torch defenses with his arm or his legs. It wouldn't be surprising to see him flirt with being a 2,000-yard rusher in 2026, in addition to throwing for over 2,500 yards or even 3,000 yards. On offense, Howell is the ultimate weapon and the ultimate X-factor. He's also the perfect example of a player that you will always have a chance to win with. Whenever Howell is on the field, your team has a shot. That was evident this year as he helped the Savages go from missing the playoffs in 2024 to capturing the district championship in 2025 and making it all the way to the 4A semifinals. It's been the case since September of 2024 but Howell is a must-see athlete before he graduates.

[player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] - Senior Running Back - Jenks

Jenks senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] entered the 2025 football season as one of the best football players in the state. After the year he had, against some of the best competition in the state, you can make a very strong argument that he finished the season as the best player in the state. Jones rewrote just about every page in the Jenks record book for running backs. He finished his senior season with 265 carries for over 2,000 yards and 41 touchdowns. As we've always said when it comes to Jones, he is so dangerous in the passing game and he showed that, finishing with 38 catches for over 400 yards and five touchdowns. Jones' performance in the win over Mustang in the regular season put the single game records at Jenks to a spot that might not ever be touched. And we'll be honest here. When we looked at the career records for Jenks at the start of the season and where Jones was at, we weren't sure he would end up on top but he shattered the record and what should be talked about more is the fact that he did it in only three seasons with the Trojans after spending his freshman season at Broken Arrow. Jones is headed to Oklahoma State and just capped off a very remarkable four years, terrorizing opposing defenses in Class 6A-1 from start to finish.

[player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] - Junior Quarterback/Defensive Back - Talihina

Talihina went 14-0 and captured the school's first state championship in nearly six decades. They also have one of the best stories after the program had to forfeit the entire 2022 season. They rebuilt and a few years later, they are state champs. Junior quarterback and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] has led the Golden Tigers on this journey back to the top and the numbers he's put up along the way are without a doubt the best in the state. Offensively, Griffith threw for over 4,100 yards and 53 touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes. He also added over 1,300 yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground. 75 offensive touchdowns is good enough to earn this award but there's more. Defensively, he also added 74 tackles and six interceptions. He forced four fumbles and recovered three fumbles on the year. From a stat-perspective, there isn't another player in the state that has better numbers than Griffith. He's helped lead Talihina to back to back state championship games and they captured the gold ball in 2025. He's the real deal and should be talked about more across the state as one of Oklahoma's very best athletes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] - Senior Running Back/Defensive Back - Sulphur

Sulphur senior running back and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] has been one of the most underrated players in the state over the last two years. Mobly and the Bulldogs had to settle for the silver ball in each of the last two seasons, losing two tough championship games to Lincoln Christian. But for Mobly, there has been no doubt that he's one of the best overall football players in the state. He's listed as a running back and defensive back here but he's played many more positions than that over the last two seasons. This year, Mobly finished with 120 carries for over 1,000 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also caught 45 passes for nearly 900 yards and nine touchdowns. It should also be mentioned that Mobly split carries with another 1,000+ yard rusher this season. Defensively, Mobly had over 100 tackles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. We've talked about and written about Mobly quite a bit over the last 18 months. He is without a doubt one of the best "big game" players in the state. If it's a big game, Mobly is going to perform at his best. That was evident this year, when he battled through injury to take over the second half in Sulphur's big win over Washington. When the lights are the brightest, Mobly routinely is the best football player on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] - Senior Running Back - Elgin

Elgin made back to back state championship games led by senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] in the last two seasons. Ever since he took over as the workhorse back in 2024, he has put this offense on his back and led them to new heights. During his senior season, Meyer finished with 239 carries for nearly 1,700 yards and 41 touchdowns. Overall, he scored 47 touchdowns during his senior season and was also very impactful on the defensive side of the ball at the linebacker position. But when it comes down to why Meyer is on this breakdown as one of the best players in the state, it's because of what he's done on the offensive side of the ball. Meyer finished his career with 104 touchdowns and it was apparent even when he was a sophomore that the ceiling for him was incredibly high. At that time, Meyer was more of a role player and Elgin would pick their spots when they used him. But over the last two seasons, Meyer became that workhorse and found the end zone on the ground over 70 times in the last two years alone. Meyer and the Owls came up short of back to back state championships. But considering the fact that Elgin hadn't made it out of the quarterfinal round before 2024, Meyer had a big role in changing the perception of this program.
