All eyes will be on senior quarterback Cooper McCord Cooper McCord ATH Adair | 2026 State OK this season as he has the potential to lead Adair to their first state title since 2015. McCord is going into his second season as a starter on both sides of the ball. He’s been a terrific linebacker for Adair since his freshman season but last year was his first year starting at quarterback. He responded by throwing for nearly 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns while also running for nearly 1,000 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was still among the team’s leading tacklers on defense. Needless to say, McCord is going to be one of the top two-way players in Class 2A-2 this season and his numbers could be even better.

Junior Cooper McCord Cooper McCord ATH Adair | 2026 State OK appears to be the next guy in line at quarterback for the Warriors this fall. As we mentioned earlier in the preview, whoever the quarterback ends up being is going to have plenty of talent around him. And we saw flashes of what McCord can do at the quarterback position in 2023. When he came into the game on offense, he was a boost to the offensive side of the ball. He was third on the team in rushing touchdowns. But don’t overlook where McCord shined brightest last fall. He was one of their leading tacklers in 2023. He also led the team in tackles for loss from the linebacker position. McCord could very well be Adair’s most important two-way player in 2024.
