Senior running back and linebacker Ricklan B Holmes II Ricklan B Holmes II 6'0" | 225 lbs | LB/RB Del City | 2026 State OK went from an intriguing prospect in 2023 to one of the best players in the state in 2024. Holmes was equally productive on offense as he was on defense. Now, defensively is where Holmes has the potential to have his greatest impact. He’ll be very important to bringing those younger players along. We saw him take that “coach on the field” role last season as he had a better understanding of the defense. If he takes it another step forward this season, Del City’s defense will be just fine. And then offensively, Holmes is going to be one of the hardest running backs to bring down in 1 on 1 situations as he’s simply too strong.

Del City’s Ricklan B Holmes II Ricklan B Holmes II 6'0" | 225 lbs | LB/RB Del City | 2026 State OK took the next step as a prospect during his junior season. Holmes has been on our radar since the end of his freshman year and as a sophomore, he was a really good piece on a loaded Del City team that made it all the way to the state championship game. But during his junior season, Holmes took that next step as a prospect and became one of the better two-way players in the state. He was an absolute bruiser from the running back position, with deceptive speed in the open field. But on defense, Holmes solidified himself as the top inside linebacker in the state’s 2026 class. Simply put, he has a nose for the football and when we got a chance to see him in person in 2024, he was always making the play or he was right there, in a position to do so. If Holmes makes another leap in 2025, similar to the one we just witnessed in 2024, he’ll be a truly elite prospect in this class.

Del City linebacker Ricklan B Holmes II Ricklan B Holmes II 6'0" | 225 lbs | LB/RB Del City | 2026 State OK is another 2026 prospect that has been hard to knock off the top spot at his position. Holmes has been that guy at the linebacker spot since the end of his freshman season. Last year, Holmes took another step during his sophomore campaign but the leap he’s made this season is off the charts. He’s solidified himself as a top ten overall prospect and the top linebacker in this class. The fact that he’s still a junior is what separates him from some of the other prospects at this position. Simply put, Holmes looks like he’s a senior and has been starting for four seasons. He has a complete understanding of the Del City defense and does a great job of being in the right place at the right time on almost every single play.
