No. 3 Trinity Christian @ No. 2 Asheville School

It's not hard to find the key matchup in this semifinal matchup: Asheville School's [player_tooltip player_id='1728224' first='Shiloh' last='Mukendi'] is averaging over 100 yards on the ground, while Trinity Christian's front seven is one of the best in the state. Brothers [player_tooltip player_id='1687767' first='Mohamed' last='Donzo'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1687761' first='Baganley' last='Donzo'] and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='849693' first='Dontario' last='Austin'] combined for over 200 tackles this season while defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1693969' first='Makijah' last='Latiker'] has taken his game to the next level in recent weeks.

I'm intrigued to see how Trinity Christian's Bralynn Howard plays at quarterback as we get later in the postseason. Xander Prosper and the Asheville School front has been excellent. I'd like to see if Howard can consistently get the ball to his playmakers like [player_tooltip player_id='1561725' first='Dynovan' last='Marshmon'] as Trinity Christian presumably tries to get to the edges and win in space.

No. 4 Harrells Christian @ No. 1 High Point Christian

It's impossible to talk about HPCA without starting with the running game. [player_tooltip player_id='820867' first='Jaylen' last='Moore'] is the workhorse, with over 200 scrimmage yards a game, but Hez Krider is averaging over 11 yards per carry with 13 touchdowns on the season as a change-of-pace back. The defensive line is fantastic, especially with the emergence of [player_tooltip player_id='1866343' first='Whitton' last='Butler'] as a secondary pass-rusher.

Harrells Christian's offense is all about spreading the ball around, with no one player touching the ball more than nine times a game. Jeremiah Davis is the leading rusher on a team that averages almost 300 rushing yards a game, while Dashaun McKoy has provided an occasional deep threat.

Harrells is all about balance on both sides of the ball, so I'll be interested to see if their team ball can counter HPCA's stars.

NCISAA Division I Semifinals Preview

No. 5 Cannon @ No. 1 Providence Day

It's Providence Day's state championship to lose after a dominant regular season, the first undefeated season in school history. There's so much college talent there, there's not enough room here to mention everybody (but if you want to vote for quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='896157' first='Zaid' last='Lott'] to win Prep Redzone North Carolina's state player of the year, vote here). I want to give running back [player_tooltip player_id='284083' first='Aidan' last='Gallos'] a particular shoutout here, as the senior has taken his game to the next level, even if his raw numbers don't necessarily let the world know.

Cannon's [player_tooltip player_id='1616140' first='Lucas' last='Lopez'] has been fantastic as the starting quarterback, tossing 32 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Defensively, hybrid linebacker-defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1024870' first='Brady' last='Ravin'] has had his best season so far. The Washington & Lee commit flies to the ball and should rack up tackles, as he has all season.

No. 3 Charlotte Christian @ No. 2 Rabun Gap

The Knights have a long trip over state lines to take on Rabun Gap. They'll likely rely on a strong running game, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1106930' first='Jamal' last='Rule'], but the receivers have to be the difference if they want to pull off an upset. There's a ton of upside in the receiving corps, led by Division I recruit [player_tooltip player_id='1671881' first='Vincent' last='Rosen'], who is fourth on the team in receptions. Tate Estep leads the way with 46 catches, while seven other players have at least 10 receptions on the season.

Defensively, [player_tooltip player_id='736967' first='Cohen' last='Kilgannon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='803792' first='Ryder' last='Kilgannon'] form a formidable linebacking duo, while [player_tooltip player_id='1671910' first='Henry' last='Hulbert'] gets down into the box from his safety position to make a ton of tackles.

If the Knights want to pull off an "upset," they'll need to limit mistakes and make some big plays on defense.
