[player_tooltip player_id='1101281' first='Carter' last='Ricke'] - Senior Quarterback - Lincoln Christian

Lincoln Christian hosts Heritage Hall in a match-up that has become the best rivalry in Class 3A football over the last five years. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1101281' first='Carter' last='Ricke'] will look to lead the Bulldogs to a fast start as they've fallen down early against the Chargers in their last three meetings. Ricke and this Lincoln Christian offense had no problems getting out to a fast start last week, in a 63-0 win over Victory Christian. But Heritage Hall also pitched a shutout last week, so things won't be as easy for Ricke in the Bulldogs. But if the Lincoln Christian senior signal caller can be as efficient as we saw from him last week, the Bulldogs should be in good shape and they might be able to flip the script and put the Chargers in that early hole. Whether it's with Ricke's arm or the run game (Ricke included) the Bulldogs can light up the scoreboard.

[player_tooltip player_id='473879' first='Case' last='Alexander'] - Junior Tight End/Linebacker - Washington

Washington looks to extend their winning streak to 46 straight wins as they go on the road to take on Sulphur Friday night. It will also be our first chance to see tight end and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='473879' first='Case' last='Alexander'] in person since the end of his sophomore season. Alexander has been a significant player to watch since his freshman season, when he emerged as one of the top linebackers in the state's 2027 class. A few years later and Alexander is one of the best overall prospects in the class and this year, he has the chance to elevate his game to one of the best two-way players in Class 2A-1. We saw Alexander playing offense in flashes throughout the 2024 season but there is no doubt that he is more confident this year. While defense is still his bread and butter, Alexander will get significantly more playing time on offense this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='492378' first='Deakon' last='Jones'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Stillwater

Stillwater is opening their 2025 football season on the road against Union. The Pioneers come into this season with a very strong offensive line and one of the best wide receiver duos in the state. It'll be our first look at junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='492378' first='Deakon' last='Jones'] this season and he's a player that has been a standout for the Pioneers since his freshman season. Simply put, Jones catches everything thrown his way. Whether it's in a game, during team camps in the spring or in 7v7 tournaments, we've watched Jones become arguably the most reliable pass catcher in the state's 2027 class. He's also been living in the weight room so he's put on some muscle to go along with the natural skillset. Now he puts those skills to the test on Friday night against a Union secondary that has multiple guys that have D1 offers in a very tough season opener.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] - Junior Quarterback - Owasso

Owasso is ready to get the sour taste out of their mouth following a week zero loss to Bixby. The Rams return home to host Jenks on Friday night. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] is certainly looking forward to get back on the field Friday night. Last season, Frankenfield emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the state during his sophomore season. Last week, Frankenfield was under fire and was somewhat limited against Bixby last week and he's looking to bounce back in a major way with the offensive threats that Owasso has. He'll be facing a Jenks defense that is incredibly young but at the same time, they are deep and they play with relentless energy. Staying composed will be a big key. The Rams were able to sweep the Trojans last year. Including beat Jenks in the semifinals in a triple overtime thriller.

[player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] - Senior Quarterback - Sand Springs

Sand Springs quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] was our pick for the most improved player in 2024 and now he kicks off his senior season with the ultimate test on Friday night. The Sandites host seven-time defending state champion Bixby, who dominated their way to a 49-21 win last week over Owasso. Webb leads a Sandite offense that could certainly be the best in Class 6A-2. He's one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the state and he has most of his top receivers returning in 2025. Webb has been on our radar since his freshman year but the jump he made last fall was noticeable. He's turned into a legitimate P4 quarterback prospect and after being committed to OSU for baseball since his freshman year, it looks like the door is open to play college football. But first, he tries to attack a relentless Bixby defense on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1832625' first='Jaden' last='O'Neal'] - Senior Quarterback - Mustang

Mustang hosts rival Yukon on Friday night but this week one clash feels like a lot more than just the annual rivalry game. It's our first chance to see the Broncos and all their new toys. Few teams in the state had more additions to the roster than Mustang. Leading the way is a California move-in at quarterback with [player_tooltip player_id='1832625' first='Jaden' last='O'Neal'] ready to make his first start in Oklahoma. O'Neal comes to Mustang as one of the highest rated 2026 quarterbacks nationally. He was committed to Oklahoma but flipped that commitment to Florida State over the summer. While we've gotten a chance to watch O'Neal in the spring and the summer, Friday's game with Yukon is the first chance to see him when it matters the most. O'Neal will be looking to get out to a fast start before the Broncos go on the road to face Broken Arrow in week two.

[player_tooltip player_id='587270' first='Jerrod' last='Williams'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Heritage Hall

You can make the argument that Heritage Hall senior and Tulsa commit [player_tooltip player_id='587270' first='Jerrod' last='Williams'] had his best performance of his junior season in the week one meeting with Lincoln Christian. Now, he looks to repeat that performance but this year, the Chargers are looking to be on the winning end. It doesn't matter where Williams is lined up on the field, he has the potential to make a big play. Offensively, he was one of the most dynamic wide receivers in Class 3A and in the state. Defensively, Williams has played multiple positions in the secondary and has had a significant impact. Finally, he's a threat in the return game on special teams. Despite losing last year, Williams' performance against Lincoln was one of the best that we watched in person during the 2024 season. With a win, the Chargers will snap Lincoln Christian's 29-game win streak.

[player_tooltip player_id='1328118' first='Kamieon' last='Compton-Nero'] - Sophomore Quarterback/Defensive Back - Rejoice Christian

There might not be another player that had a better game last week than Rejoice Christian sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1328118' first='Kamieon' last='Compton-Nero'] on both sides of the ball. Offensively, the Rejoice sophomore threw for over 350 yards and nearly ran for 100 yards. All in all, he also accounted four touchdowns and had two interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. Compton-Nero is without a doubt one of the best overall prospects in the state's 2028 class and he's leading a defending state champion that expects to raise another gold ball in December. The challenge this week is Cascia Hall. Compton-Nero's first meaningful snaps at quarterback came against Cascia Hall last season and the Commandos were dominant. They are also coming into this week with a chip on their shoulder after losing by three touchdowns to Holland Hall in week zero.

[player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] - Senior Running Back - Sulphur

The last time we watched Sulphur senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] on the football field, he came up inches short of carrying the Bulldogs to the state championship. They lost to Lincoln Christian and had to settle for the silver ball in 2024. But it was clear that Mobly was one of the absolute best players in the state in 2024. He was the ultimate weapon offense. He could be a workhorse running back, like we saw in the state title game and he could also be a threat out of the backfield as a pass catcher. No matter where Mobly was lined up, he was a threat to make a play. Mobly and the Bulldogs open the 2025 season at home against a Washington team that has won 45 straight games. In our opinion, this is the best game of the week and why we'll be there to catch it in person. This offseason, Mobly committed to Navy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1522514' first='Nash' last='Henry'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Norman North

It'll be a special night in Norman as Norman North hosts rival Norman High for the first on-campus home game in Timberwolves history. Making his first career start will be sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1522514' first='Nash' last='Henry'] and he comes into this season with some hype around him. There is no doubt that the talent is there but at this point, it's unproven against varsity competition on Friday nights. Now, he does have a few things going for him, in addition to that raw talent. He has the best wide receiver in the state to throw the ball to and Norman North has been one of the best pipelines at producing D1 quarterback talent in the last decade. There are high expectations for Nash and Norman North but we're excited what he will look like when the ball is kicked off Friday night. There is a lot of potential there as a pure passer and overall athlete.
