It was a fantastic atmosphere at Lone Peak High, and the crowd was loud and the home stands were filled. Lone Peak got off to a fast start with a Pick-Six, then a quick touchdown on their first offensive play. They rode that 14-point cushion and went wire to wire. Orem couldn't get to the quarterback, and the pass rush was held at bay due to a quick passing attack and a rotation of running backs. Lone Peak proved to be a complete team and a danger in the 6A classification. Orem fought back and didn't have the man power against the higher classification, they should make a deep run at the 5A classification and this game will help them in the long run, they showed good grit in fighting back from a 3+ score deficit to come all the way back to being down 10 towards the midway point of the 4th quarter. Orem will come out better for this, and Lone Peak comes out victorious and know that they can compete against anyone. Both teams can hold their head high. Let's dive into some impact players on the night.

Harmon opened the game with a pick-six. He's an athletic defensive back with good range, ball skills, and does well closing on a ball and making a play on it. He has good hip fluidity and does well sticking to his receiver. He'll be next in the long line of impactful Lone Peak defensive backs.

Stroshine is a bona fide impact player and a day one starter. The first offensive snap of the game, he took it to the house and showed his speed as he ran away from defenders, even a safety that had an angle on him. He appears effortless when he's out there, just an exceptional talent. He does a great job of making defenders miss and creating with the ball in his hands. His footwork, route running, and nuance at the position are exceptional.

Kennan routinely got open on the night and was a handful for the opposing cornerback. He did well at getting the ball to his playmakers and piecing together the offense and making them a cohesive unit. He did a good job of keeping the ball out of danger for most of the evening. He's auditioning for the job next year and has done nothing wrong thus far.

During warm-ups, Mailo caught the eye. He has good size, showed strong hands, and he transitioned upfield with ease. He's a player who should be part of the rotation this year and be a name to know for next year. He looked good during the offseason showcases and will be a player who should get reps as the season goes on.

Barney was effective throughout the night and a key note to take away is that he was the short yardage back, the goal line back, and the back they used to close out the game. He'll be part of a rotation, but he is used in high-leverage situations. He has good contact balance, fights through defenders, and has good wiggle.

Zundel did a good job throughout the night at impacting plays and getting to the ball. He showed good quickness off the line and did a good job of shedding his blocks and showing good anticipation.

Faumui caught my eye. He has a good frame and will continue to fill out. He showcased strong hands and had a quick twitch. He transitioned upfield well and shows himself as an athletic player that has good upside.

Galea'i has put on good size this offseason and he was all over the field. He lined up at both safety spots, even came down to cover the slot, and was the punter and returner. He's an all-around athlete and showcases good speed, athleticism, range and overall has an excellent movement pattern and shows good hip fluidity. He's a dun player to watch.

Steeler has put on good size this offseason and was part of the rotation at wide receiver. He has great length and athleticism. He adds an immediate threat to the vertical game due to his catch radius. He'll likely end up as a big slot and tight end role, but his athleticism allows him to play as a boundary receiver.

Stonebraker was used as a chess piece; he took direct handoffs out of the backfield, lined up in the slot, and ran routes as a running back. He did well running the ball but his true home will be at wide receiver. Due to his skillset, he has found a home in the backfield as he's too talented an athlete to be kept off the field. He had an exciting touchdown on the evening.

Vaea is a physical player with a good frame and a thicker lower half. He's a hard hitter and sets the tempo on defense. He was a player who made several physical plays throughout the night.

Kai had a big, deep catch and run for a touchdown, and he was a player who was open vertically on the night. He is a mismatch, moves well, and has good speed for his size and position. He lines up as the big slot and was a player who did a good job of creating separation throughout the night. He is also a physical blocker and does well in run support.

That was our recap of the Game of the Week.
