6A-Region 3 Preview Lehi

2024 record: 9-3   2025 Key Games: Friday, August 22- at Mountain Ridge Friday, September 12- Weber Thursday, September 18- at Skyridge   These are three games to watch for Lehi. Mountain Ridge will be a better program this year, and if they can get their quarterback situation figured out, it could be a tricky game. Weber is a tough matchup, as it's likely Lehi could have three blowout wins and be on cruise control, and could be looking forward to the following week with Skyridge. Weber is a quicker-paced offense, and they have some weapons. Weber could get out to a quick start, and it's possible that Weber could get the jump on them if Lehi overlooks them. Skyridge is the game that's interesting because it's a short week, and Lehi could be in a spot where they've had nothing but blowouts and not ready for a fight. 2025 Hardest Games: Thursday, October 9- at Lone Peak Wednesday, October 15- Corner Canyon Back-to-back weeks and on short rest, that's a brutal way to end the season. These two games could decide who wins the region.   2025 Outlook: Lehi pushed all in this year after last year's finish to the season. It was an arms race to the top, and Lehi came away the offseason winners in the portal. They have some questions that they'll need to answer, and it all starts with the signal caller.   Key Players:    Cash has spent the past couple of seasons on Thursday nights and has been in a camp battle all season long. He has the size and the frame you want. Cash throws a good, deep ball and has the ball placement you want to see. He'll take what the defense gives him and is a player who is best when he's aggressive and stresses the defense out when he throws it over the top.     Bingham is a late transfer who was in a camp battle all year himself at Mountain Ridge. He's shown flashes and trusts his arm. He's not afraid to stress defenses and take deep shots; he's a signal caller who will zip it in tight coverages.     Eka is primed for a fantastic final season. He is an exceptional running back with a three-down skillset. He has good vision and patience behind the line, once he rides the wave and finds the open crease, he showcases his quick burst and the ability to get small through the first level, once he clears that and is at the second level, he displays his acceleration and long speed when he looks to the edge and a runway for home. Eka is far from a finesse player; he'll lower his pads and finish his runs. In space, he is deadly, and as a receiver in the open field, he is a threat to take it to the house each time. He's a threat to get 1,500 all-purpose yards and 20 touchdowns.     Glasker is a twitchy receiver with good exposiveness in and out of his breaks. He has exceptional speed and is a fluid route runner. His twitchiness and hip fluidity allow him to win with his break and instantly create separation. He is one of the best off the line, and with the ferocity he brings and he attacks the stem and is one of the best, if not the best, in the state at it. He's an elite prospect and uses his 4.3 speed to his advantage.     Laddimore transfers in and has every right to be a late riser. He has good size and is strong at the catch point. He is athletic, and jump balls are his to win and win, he does with those. He is a vertical receiver and wins at all three levels; he's a player primed to break out now that he's in an offense that will showcase his talents.     Shepard is a late transfer-in but has quickly made his presence felt. He'll likely start off on Thursday nights, and even with the depth that Lehi has, I will bet on him suiting up on Fridays and being part of the rotation. He is too good of a player to be kept off the field, at any level. He can win at the boundary or inside as a big slot. He uses his size to his advantage, has good footwork, and is strong at the catch point and tracks the ball well. He's a player who is waiting to blossom; he's a name to know now.     I was in attendance at a private 3DQB session this past summer, and there was a receiver who kept catching my eye. With some elite quarterbacks in attendance, it was he who caught my eye and was the winner on the day. He is an uber-athletic playmaker. Effortless mover, great hip fluidity and bend. He gears up and down in a step and has exceptionally strong hands. He understands tempo and attacks the cornerback. He is best in space or in vertical routes at this time, but he is a player that will make a name for himself.     Niu is an exceptional tight end and part of the modern day wave. An athletic big, who moves like a receiver. Niu is physical and can be inline, but when he is detached and forces a backer or safety on him, that's when he shines. He's too athletic and physical for safeties and too quick and shifty for backers. He's primed to have a fantastic final season.     Benjamin is an elite tackle with great size and moves exceptionally well. His quickness off the line allows him to maintain positioning on an edge rusher. He holds up well to bull rushers and speed rushers. He has the lateral quickness along with the physicality to be a great pass blocker. His hands are quick, and he has great technique. As a run blocker, his physicality comes through; he looks to maul people and will easily get to the second level. He blends great strength and speed to his game, and his technique is superb.     Have has good size and frame, he is versatile and can play inside or outside. He shows good footwork and is a good lateral mover. He can pull if it's asked of him, he easily gets to the second level, and as a pass blocker, is solid and doesn't have trouble with rushers that come at him. At over 300 lbs, you don't expect him to move that well and be that light on his feet.     Godfrey has good size and frame, and is already over 300 lbs; he can continue to add to it as his frame absorbs it well. He shows good strength and physicality in his game. Run blocking is where he excels, as he can apply his physicality at will. As a pass blocker, he uses his technique and leverage to his advantage; he doesn't get grabby or get out of position, and avoids being grabby. He's a fundamentally sound lineman.     I've seen Takitaki several times this offseason, and he is someone who will dominate his final season. He has excellent size, has a frame to continue to grow into, and is explosive off the line, moves well with a quick burst laterally, and has violent hands and excellent physicality to his game.     Sweat is a defensive lineman with good size and is best suited as a defensive tackle, where he is best as a run-stuffing tackle. He uses his size to his advantage and does a good job of pressing forward and advancing his position.     Love is an active defensive tackle who has good size to be up the middle and is an excellent run-stuffing tackle. He is light on his feet and moves well for a player his size. He has good strength and physicality to his game. He is too strong to just be single, covered by most offensive guards, and is a player who will cause chaos.     Meredith comes from Hawaii and will claim one of the starting defensive line spots. He is a supremely talented player. He can line up as an edge rusher and has the size and physicality to move inside and be an interior rusher. He does well against the run and against linemen who are bigger than him. He is a budding superstar and will be a late riser and continue to garner Power-Four offers. He possesses all the traits you look for, and best of all, he can execute any technique and scheme. This versatility allows him to be on the field and be asked to do anything and everything.     Tautai comes in from Hawaii and has already created a buzz. He has good size, will continue to grow into his frame and already shows great instincts, and has good size and strength. I've seen him at showcases and events this offseason, and he moves well, is quick off the line, and has good technique. He'll be part of the rotation this year, and next year should be a breakout. He's a name to know now as he'll be impacting opposing offenses for the next two years.     Evans comes from California and will head up a backing group that is deep and talented. Evans has great instincts, diagnoses quickly, shows good quickness, lateral movements, disengages from his blocks, and has excellent tackling form. His functional play strength is good, and he is best as an on-ball attacking backer that could be used as an edge rusher.     Downs is an exceptional athlete and has good size and an athletic frame. He is quick and has good lateral movements. He is versatile as he can be an on-ball attacking backer, where he can use that quickness and blend that with his play strength and closing speed. He disengages from his blocks with ease, and his active hands allow him to brush a lineman to the side and continue his pursuit. In coverage, he shows good instincts in space and doesn't get lost. He plays his zone well and will pass off and keep the integrity of his zone intact. He's a high football IQ player, and he is set up to have a monster season. He'll be a Power-Four recruit.     Madsen is a defensive back with good range and closing speed. He has good lateral movement, tracks the ball well, and easily disrupts passing lanes. He does a good job of making a play on the ball and does well covering up any weaknesses in the defense. He can be a cover corner and a deep safety with his range and speed, a versatile player that frees up the rest of the secondary unit.     Kelley is a player new to the state, and he'll impact that backing group. He has good instincts and showcases athletic movement patterns and diagnoses quickly. He does well in coverage and has a good quick burst, and does well attacking. He'll see plenty of snaps this season.     Smith will be part of the revamped secondary unit and he is a versatile defensive back. He can cover a slot receiver as he showcases good quickness and moves well laterally, he'll hold up to twitchy receivers. He can be a box safety as he will help in run support, and he is likely at his best as a deep safety where his athletic traits come to play and he can show off his closing speed and his range. His ball tracking is good and he is a player that will be asked to take on a bigger role in that secondary unit. It's moving pieces in the secondary, but he is one player who should be a key part of that group.    That was our look at Lehi.
