Takitaki is a physical, speedy edge rusher with violent hands and an explosive first step. If he can bring pressure early, he’ll create chaos for the opposing team.

Takitaki is our prediction for Region 3 Defensive Player of the Year. He has done an excellent job this offseason and is primed to help lead a strong Lehi defense this year. He’ll be the lead pass rusher for them and can easily get 20+ sacks this year. He is set up for an exceptional final season before heading off to his next destination. He’ll be a multi-year Power Four starter.

I’ve seen Takitaki several times this offseason, and he is someone who will dominate his final season. He has excellent size, has a frame to continue to grow into, and is explosive off the line, moves well with a quick burst laterally, and has violent hands and excellent physicality to his game.

During the 7’s event, Takitaki showed his pass coverage skills and covering in space. He’s an elite edge rusher, and his being so comfortable in space and in coverage makes him that much better as a player and a recruit. Takitaki shows great anticipation and lateral movement, he’s adding more to his arsenal.

Takitaki is an excellent mover; he showcases good explosiveness and has a good bend to him as a rusher. He has a great first step, active hands, and good physicality to his game. Takitaki was smooth during his drills and performed well throughout the evening. He was explosive and made a good showing during the 5v5 portion.

The BYU commit shows his ability to defeat blocks with burst to get up field, use of hands, and fluid hips. Takitaki shows he can compete with offensive line prospects with size and athletic ability.

Takitaki is an explosive athlete with a quick get off the line and great closing speed. He has excellent length and a dynamic rusher. Takitaki has an array of moves to get by the Offensive Lineman and blends power, speed, and technique very well. He has great hand strength and bull rush packages that he uses and has great hip bend to get under the Lineman and speed to blow past. He has a great understanding of disrupting passing lanes when he can’t get to the Quarterback, showcases great footwork and can drop back and cover his zone area without feeling out of place. Takitaki is an exceptional, versatile player who is arguably one of the best pure rushers in the state.
