Madsen is a defensive back with good range and closing speed. He has good lateral movement, tracks the ball well, and easily disrupts passing lanes. He does a good job of making a play on the ball and does well covering up any weaknesses in the defense. He can be a cover corner and a deep safety with his range and speed, a versatile player that frees up the rest of the secondary unit.
