Tennessee 2029 Rankings: 60+ Wide Receivers To Know In The State

After a year of finding prospects, evaluating them in person and on film, speaking with different coaches and sources throughout the state, the Prep Redzone Next Tennessee Class of 2029 Rankings and Watchlist is complete. This list contains nearly 400 prospects that are set to make their high school football debut this upcoming fall---and the talent is immense.   A few things to remember:   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Other than the Top-10 overall rankings, EVERY OTHER SECTION IS LISTED ALPHABETICALLY BY FIRST NAME</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>This list is NOT final and will be updated by Prep Redzone Tennessee as HS careers progress</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Things change quickly on this level and there may be incorrect information that I simply missed/wasn't aware of </li> </ul>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Wide Receiver(s) Ranked in Top-10 Overall</h2>   **Listed By Top-10 Ranking**    <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>There is zero doubt in my mind, and there hasn't been since before Thanksgiving, that [player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] is the unquestioned No.1 class of 2029 prospect in the state</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Attended Ensworth last year and has taken his talents to Battle Ground Academy</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Already holds reported verbal offers from: Kentucky, Nebraska, Southern Miss, Nicholls, Maryland, Toledo, Miami (OH), Temple, Vanderbilt and Tennessee</li> </ul>   My heart goes out to the Defensive Backs that have to shut down the Battle Ground Academy passing attack for the foreseeable future. [player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] hasn't played a snap of varsity football yet and already holds 10 offers. At 6-foot-2 and 185-pounds, he's about as can't-miss as there is on this level. Up almost 20 pounds in the last calendar year, Porter joins an explosive offense that already has [player_tooltip player_id='1030085' first='Maximus' last='Curry'] and others to keep in check. He's a big kid, long, strong and has elite ball skills. Speaking with people who know the baseball world better than I do, several scouts say there is absolutely a future for him on the diamond as well. Get ready Tennessee High School football, [player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] has arrived.      <figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2025/07/Luke-Tritch-body.png?w=875" alt="" class="wp-image-1727940" style="width:524px;height:auto" /></figure>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Top-10 Wide Receiver Prospects Watchlist </h2>   **Listed Alphabetically By First Name**    The first of two previous Richview Middle School prospects I see as top Wide Receiver prospects in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='1707729' first='Aree' last='Hines'] will be off to Kirkwood High School this year. A long, smooth, lean Wide Receiver that runs extremely fluid routes. Can take the top off a defense with ease and has a crazy catch radius. The scariest thing about Hines, is that by all acounts, he's an even better basketball player.     A really impressive multi-sport athlete who may be even better on the Baseball diamond, than the football field. He's a tough kid that plays the Wide Receiver/Safety position(s) with the tough guy swagger, mixed with the ball skills necessary to be great at the position. This past season he was selected to the West Tennessee Middle School All-Star Game and had a nice showing. Again, a multi-sport athlete, he has already been clocked in the 80s as a Pitcher.     Avery Trace Middle School has put out some very talented players in recent history (see: 2028 top OL prospect [player_tooltip player_id='423394' first='Koehn' last='Dial']), including a deep group of 2029 prospects this year. [player_tooltip player_id='1576784' first='Christian' last='Hulsey'] is one of those prospects, and he'll be off to Cookeville for high school. Hulsey plays both WR and DB, but plays with the same aggression on both sides of the ball. He isn't afraid to go across the middle and attacks the ball in mid-air every...single...time.     Concord Christian will return the services of [player_tooltip player_id='1031934' first='Dasani' last='Moulden'] this year, who saw pre-season and spring game work with the squad last year. It's foolish to call it a "make or break" year for a prospect just starting his high school career, but Moulden is a reclass prospect and on the smaller side (comparatively) -- a big freshman campaign would be huge for him. Electric is the word that comes to mind for him. With his speed and quickness, a five-yard slant could easily go for six.     Joining Aree Hawkins as Richview Middle School football products on this Top WR Prospect list, Howes is coming off a huge year for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System champions and will be off to Clarksville High School. Howes brought a physical presence on the outside and could easily out-muscle smaller Defensive Backs for jump balls. With that setting the table, he was also an All-Conference Basketball player a year ago.     Beech High School is already bringing in the majority of the 2029 class from T.W. Hunter Middle School, who have won three straight Sumner County championships, but the freaky [player_tooltip player_id='1537223' first='Jaeden' last='Carrington'] will also be suiting up for the Buccaneers. At 6-foot-2 and 170-pounds, he's the Randy Moss type that can go run underneath anything thrown deep. Carrington is also a two-sport star that has been dunking a basketball for well over a year.     Above, in [player_tooltip player_id='1537223' first='Jaeden' last='Carrington']'s write up, I said that Beech High School was getting the majority of the T.W. Hunter Middle School 2029 group; However, the ever-dangerous [player_tooltip player_id='1716314' first='Josiah' last='Bell'] is going from T.W. Hunter to Pope John Paul II for his high school years. Bell is a tremendous get for JPII, as he's an extremely dangerous prospect who can pick up a ton of yards in the blink of an eye. The All-Conference selection from a year ago had 182-yards and a pair of scores in the Sumner County championship game last year.     Out in the heart of Memphis, White Station High School is welcoming an athletic group of 2029 playmakers to the high school ranks, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1698764' first='Kam' last='Davis']. Davis tells me he's getting "pretty much equal" reps as both a Wide Receiver and a Defensive Back to this point in the summer. I personally like him a bit more as a Wide Receiver. While I don't have specifics on size, he looks to have adequate hight and weight for the varsity level. He's an explosive kid, with very sure hands.     Unfortunately Ensworth did lose a couple big pieces off their terrific eighth-grade team from a year ago--namely WR [player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] (No.1 overall) and QB [player_tooltip player_id='424644' first='Kam' last='Morton'] (No.8 overall)--but the Nashville-based school will still have the services of [player_tooltip player_id='1554766' first='Kendall' last='Rucker']. Like most of the other kids in this write up, Rucker is a multi-sport athlete who could end up being even better on the Baseball Diamond. He should play early and I expect him to impact both sides of the ball with his size and speed.     It's been a little bit of a wild ride for [player_tooltip player_id='1538130' first='Luke' last='Tritch'] this off-season, as he leaves the championship pedigree of the Oakland program. As of this past spring he was set to attend Battle Ground Academy, but has since made the decision to attend Riverdale High School. Riverdale has a nice group of kids coming in and Tritch has the opportunity to make an impact on the Varsity level as a freshman. Through camping this summer he already reports an offer from Nicholls State University.     The Roadrunners of Austin-East had one of the most explosive and dangerous teams on the middle school level anywhere in Tennessee last year. One of the big weapons on the outside was [player_tooltip player_id='1681703' first='Marcos' last='McCord'] who racked up yards, honors and highlight plays all season long. He's listed at 5-foot-11 but plays and looks significantly longer/bigger than that. A great red zone threat with his ability to high point the ball. There's always stuff to sharpen, but he runs very good short routes and can break it off with the best of 'em.     Pope John Paul II clearly made no secrets about the type of players they were looking to bring in with this 2029 class. Joining [player_tooltip player_id='1716314' first='Josiah' last='Bell'] at JPII will be [player_tooltip player_id='1669056' first='Trevon' last='Tyson'], formerly of East End Prep in Nashville. Tyson was a major factor in East End Prep winning it's third straight city title and brings a tough guy on the outside who isn't afraid to get physical. I'm not saying the skill set translates at this point, but he plays in the mold of a Hines Ward or a DK Metcalf, where the DBs will feel it the next morning.     Rounding out this Top-10 prospect list, which is really a Top-13, is [player_tooltip player_id='1705037' first='Tyler' last='Woods'] who will be off to LaVergne High School. Last year at LaVergne Middle School Woods was one of the most exciting players to watch, in all of Middle Tennessee. An All-Rutherford County selection as a Wide Receiver/Defensive Back/Linebacker/etc. Woods made it a point to make people pay for looking over his smaller size (listed at 5-foot-8 and 150-pounds right now). He looks like an ideal Slot Wide Receiver who will make the tough catches and can zip up field in a hurry if the defense doesn't make the sure tackle.      <figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter
