Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
I wasn’t keeping track, but if I was, I bet Hulsey would’ve ended up having 30 catches today, at least. To say he was reliable would be an understatement. At each level of the field, on every down, he was the obvious go-to target for his squad. He is a capable athlete with good hands, but his spatial awareness impressed me the most. Even though he is 5’10, he played a role we often see in TEs, settling down and using his frame to box out defenders and reel in the ball. He plays bigger than listed, and through day 1, he is likely the most productive player in the tournament, regardless of position.

was an early top performer and quickly established himself as the team’s top offensive threat. He has an athletic frame and showed sharp route running with quick, decisive breaks that allowed him to separate from defenders. Hulsey consistently caught the ball away from his body and looked comfortable finishing through contact. One of his best moments came on a contested 1-on-1 catch where he high-pointed the ball over a defender and came down with it, highlighting both his body control and natural receiving ability.

is one of those prospects, and he’ll be off to Cookeville for high school. Hulsey plays both WR and DB, but plays with the same aggression on both sides of the ball. He isn’t afraid to go across the middle and attacks the ball in mid-air every…single…time.

, an athlete for Level Up that played a crucial role for his team this past weekend. With great size and amazing speed off the snap, Hulsey consistently showcased his ability to beat the defense to the ball as well as elevate off the ground to haul in the challenging touchdown pass. Another aspect of Hulsey’s playstyle that stood out was his ability to read the long pass and cover receivers in the endzone.

, a wide receiver and defensive back for Level Up 14U. Hulsey caught my attention with his great size and wing span, showing off his ability to beat the defense to the endzone and elevate off the ground to haul in the touchdown pass. Hulsey also stood out defensively with his ability to lock down receivers and swat the ball to the ground.
