Here are the top defensive players of bracket play on Sunday!

2030 Tennessee Vultures DB [player_tooltip player_id='2118525' first='Nakavi' last='Gundy'] was a standout on day two of our Battle in Bama 7v7 event as one of the top defenders of the day. He's a physically imposing 8th grader who looms large over most athletes in the 14U group. Gundy's length and physical play generated several pass breakups each game as a shutdown defensive back on the outside. Barnes is a quick and twitchy young athlete with natural playmaking ability on both sides of the ball. Fain did well at both receiver and defensive back as a smaller but athletic player who made important plays all weekend long. He'll develop into a future standout at the high school level once he develops physically, with good early athletic traits to build on.

Another top two-way playmaker for the Tennessee Vultures at the Battle in Bama 7v7 event was 2030 ATH [player_tooltip player_id='2116802' first='Antwon' last='Flakes'] Jr. He's another prospect who could've been placed on our offensive or defensive standouts and showcased his versatility throughout the weekend. The 2030 prospect out of Tennessee has a bright future as a two-way player and could develop into a college prospect on either side of the ball. Watkins did a nice job at defensive back on Sunday against some talented receivers in attendance in the 14U group that caught our eye. He may not have been as physically imposing as some of the athletes in the 14U group, but Anick forced you not to overlook him due to his size. His athleticism is impressive for his age and is a standout multi-sport athlete with a bright future in several sports. Anick will hit growth spurts in the future, but he's a natural athlete who will force his way onto the field on varsity in high school in the future sooner rather than later.

Class of 2030 defensive prospect LaQuan Woods stood out this weekend at the Battle in Bama 7v7 event, turning in a strong performance for the KY Elite Wildcats. Woods consistently demonstrated the ability to compete in space, utilizing his instincts and athleticism to stay involved in multiple reps throughout the event. His size and competitiveness were evident against quality competition, making him one of the more noticeable defensive performers in his age group. As his development continues, Woods is a young name worth keeping on the radar moving forward.
