The Roadrunners of Austin-East had one of the most explosive and dangerous teams on the middle school level anywhere in Tennessee last year. One of the big weapons on the outside was Marcos McCord Marcos McCord 6'1" | 150 lbs | WR/DB Austin-East | 2029 TN who racked up yards, honors and highlight plays all season long. He’s listed at 5-foot-11 but plays and looks significantly longer/bigger than that. A great red zone threat with his ability to high point the ball. There’s always stuff to sharpen, but he runs very good short routes and can break it off with the best of ’em.

As mentioned above in Cullen Hayden Cullen Hayden 5'11" | 175 lbs | QB Memphis University | 2029 TN ‘s write up, the talented Quarterback connected with six different Tennesssee Future Stars receivers–one of those Wide Receivers was Marcos McCord Marcos McCord 6'1" | 150 lbs | WR/DB Austin-East | 2029 TN . The stats were ho-hum, just two catches for eight-yards. However, successfully catching both targets is never a bad thing.

One of four Wide Receivers on the 8th Grade Tennessee Future Stars that are listed at, or above, the 5-foot-9 mark–look for McCord to be a big play threat. Austin East was full of big time playmakers this season and McCord was near the top of the list. Comes with very good size, pretty good speed and excellent ball skills for this level. Per MileSplit, earlier this spring, McCord set PRs in the 100M (12.96) High Jump (4′-10″) and 200M (24.68). It wouldn’t shock me at all, if McCord ended up being primarily used as a Safety by the time college comes around.
