Hampton offered a collection of players at it's July 9th football camp. The offer list consisted of both linemen and skilled players. The program is continuing to build it's roster by offering players that fit both their program and scheme. Here is a list of both in state and regional players who received offers at Wednesday's camp.

Havunen continues to show out at camps consistently winning 1 on 1 matchups. His base and footwork are phenomenal as he does a wonderful job of mirroring the defender and replacing his hands. Ben is always under control and uses his body strategically and efficiently. He is pound for pound one of the best prospects in the state of VA regardless of class. His ability to finesse charging D-linemen is truly impressive and his technique is beyond his years. His lower body strength and play strength are great assets. His flexibility, footwork, and hand placement make him one of the most technically sound prospects I have ever seen. The sophomore received his first offer Wednesday and expect many more to follow!!!

Solid QB and well worth tracking into senior year. Xavier already has Hampton, Georgetown, and UPenn offers. With a strong first 4 games should garner more interest. Love his pocket awareness and mobility when the play breaks down. He stays in pocket and keeps head downfield. He does a great job of anticipating collapse and scrambling for yards when necessary. Good play fakes and scrambling ability on RPOs as well. Player has good downfield accuracy and throws catchable passes with both touch and torque. Has velocity on ball within 20 yards but also takes something off when necessary. You would like to see a little more air under passes downfield, but if I were a receiver I would like catching his passes due to combination of velocity and touch. Repetitions with WRs can also alleviate this issue. His length, poise in the pocket, accuracy, and decision making, make him a solid D1 QB. High IQ kid , leader, it factor make me buy in. 15 TDs/4 Ints. Takes care of the football!!!

Really like Deuce's game. Believe that he is one the best pound for pound players in the state. Deuce can be a security blanket on 3rd down but also a dynamic wide receiver who runs post and corner routes. His versatility is a big strength in his game. He can be effective as runner with end arounds, reverses, jet sweeps. Could even see him lining up in the back field. He is a swiss army knife with speed and burst. He ran a 4.4 at Wednesday's camp. As an offense you want him on the field and as a defense you have to account for him. Between his strength, cutting ability, and route tree I can see him having a breakout year with QB [player_tooltip player_id='1313487' first='Deacon' last='Skogen']. He likes to block too and will get physical when necessary. His situational awareness is impressive as he always make the play (block, run, catch) to help his team execute. Deuce is a solid G5 prospect with ACC potential.

Lord is one of the best rising 9th graders in the country at any position. What he does with the football at his age is absolutely phenomenal. His pocket presence is next level for a middle school QB. He shows poise and makes good decisions with the football. He can also throw on the run with accuracy when pocket collapses. Everything he does is smooth and under control, he lets the game come to him and rarely forces bad passes. He hits multiple different receivers in middle school film, showing that he sees the field well and throws to open target. Lord has an it factor, calmness, and humility. I would trust him to handle big moments late in the game. He is very sound, smooth, and efficient for a kid his age. Great AT as he throws with power and touch. Receivers are rarely adjusting to his ball. He makes the game look easy, he processes information quickly, and his team scores like they are playing backyard football.

Gavin shows the necessary fluidity and athletic ability to play tackle at the next level. He shows good hand placement and bend as he drives defensive players out of the play. Player shows good lateral quickness and does a great job protecting the QB. Player has a nice combination of athletic ability and technique. He pulls well and changes direction well to pick up defender. Once he latches on to defender, he is an effective blocker who creates space for ball carrier. In pass pro, he kick steps well, is patient, and does not lunge. He has the agility and quickness to handle an edge rusher and keep qb safe. He has been well coached and has faced premier competition.

Player shows great coverage skills as a corner. He back pedals well, changes directions, gets in and out of breaks, and has recovery speed. With college coaching he can become a shut down corner at Hampton. Player shows aggression as he breaks on the ball, but isn't overly physical where he'd get called for PI. His feet are his greatest attribute as he shows he can mirror receivers all day. He has quick feet and good trigger. Player shows competitiveness, instincts, and timing. Shows contact power in tackling. He has already committed to Hampton and is a good addition for the Pirates. Look forward to tracking him on Saturdays!

The Kempsville QB picked up his first offer Wednesday from Hampton. Josh shows good pocket presence as a QB and waits for the play to develop, he never seems panicked or rattled. He goes though his progressions and waits for a receiver to get separation and hits the open man. He is always scanning and using his eyes to manipulate the defense. He shows footwork and mobility within the pocket, he is always actively moving and scanning. He has great touch on his passes, throwing spirals that are very catchable. He facilitates the offense and makes intelligent decisions with the ball. Look for a breakout year statistically for the Kempsville Senior as he has multiple weapons and has taken a lot of reps with his receiving corps.

Jason received his second offer Thursday to give him Hampton and Ferrum. Jason is long, has large, soft hands and catches everything with his hands. He is a versatile WR who can run both screens and deep routes effectively. He adjusts to the football and shows catch radius. I still don't think he has reached his full potential as a WR. As he gets stronger and more aggressive, he can be a game changer at the X position. D coordinators will have to respect him as a deep threat and as an underneath receiver who can pick up YAC yards. He also shows the ability to block on the edge, just needs to get stronger and build his upper body. He is a late bloomer in the recruiting process with a high ceiling. His length, hands, and smoothness a route runner are attributes that are hard to teach. With a big senior season, I expect more offers to come in.

Horton was offered Wednesday and is rapidly progressing as an offensive prospect. He has the mass, length, athletic ability, and twitch to be an FBS offensive lineman. A few things to work out technically, but is being taught by offensive line gurus Brandon Carr and DJ Dinsmoor. Horton shows aggression and finishes plays. His movement is sudden for a kid his size and has a high ceiling as a prospect. He also plays defense and does an exceptional job on defense shedding blocks and clogging A gaps. Expect big things from Horton this year. He has put the work in and will now reap the rewards.
