My colleague Will Helms has done an excellent job in breaking down our 2026 Rankings Update, and to kind of put a bow on things, I wanted to highlight a few offensive star players who moved up in our Rankings Update. I want to share why they moved up from my perspective, and why they are names you need to have on your radar this upcoming season.

William recently committed to Boston College, who is getting a specially talented player, who I think his best football is ahead of him. William came onto the scene strong as a huge receiver who can also play tight end in situations, and excels at winning the jump ball in 1 on 1 coverage situations. He will draw defenses' attention as the #1 offensive threat, which should open up some other talented teammates to make plays all over the field. He is essential to the success of the Mountaineers this upcoming season.

A cannon for an arm is what one respected coach told me about Zaid, who stepped into some very big shoes in a good way last season, leading the Chargers to the championship game in their private school playoff bracket. Providence Day is challenging itself with a stronger schedule this year, but they have the ultimate confidence in Zaid, who is now committed to attend Syracuse after decommitting from North Carolina earlier this year. In Year 2 leading the Chargers, I expect Zaid to put up huge numbers, throwing to a talented group of skill players once again.

Ethan has had a great offseason from a recruiting perspective, picking up multiple Division 1 college football offers. Ethan has also shown some things while playing 7 on 7, which for him is probably more important than for other players, because of the type of offense Mt. Pleasant runs throughout the season. Ethan has shown some elite speed and athleticism, which helps enhance his highlights from his junior year. I expect Ethan to have another strong season on both sides of the ball for the Tigers, who hope to improve on their 2nd round playoff appearance this year.

Raishawn, among a banner year for wide receivers in North Carolina, exploded up our rankings thanks to a number of offers from multiple schools, and even more impressive speed and athleticism in some video of offseason work we observed of him. Raishawn and [player_tooltip player_id='1420953' first='Keenan' last='Sullivan'] are going to give the Porter Ridge offense a more explosive element than we usually see from them from a passing perspective, which has to be exciting for Pirates fans this upcoming season.

Coaches have been raving about Lucas from a strength and athleticism standpoint, and he stands to be a leader for a Providence team focused on trying to take the next step to a team that advances in the state playoffs. Lucas has picked up several Division 1 football offers this offseason, helping firmly put him in our Top 100 in the state overall, and a Top 10 offensive lineman. I think he can continue to climb even higher with a strong start to the upcoming season.

I wanted to highlight Perry because coming into this season, he is the clear favorite to start and lead the Mavericks' offense. Even though Mallard Creek lost over 40 seniors, they are favored to be a contender because of some young talent moving up to varsity from a strong junior varsity program. Perry's dual-threat ability this year I think, will be put fully on display, and you will see a special player that can help carry the Mavericks to some strong victories this upcoming season.
