Expert Analysis

Lucas is a player who has just continued to get better and better throughout his career. I firmly believe that he still hasn’t reached his ceiling for the player he can ultimately become. Lucas has committed to play college football at Mercer, and I think that’s an excellent choice personally. Lucas is versatile and can play guard or tackle with excellent technique and footwork. Lucas is also extremely strong and can be a good leader for an offensive line room.

Coaches have been raving about Lucas from a strength and athleticism standpoint, and he stands to be a leader for a Providence team focused on trying to take the next step to a team that advances in the state playoffs. Lucas has picked up several Division 1 football offers this offseason, helping firmly put him in our Top 100 in the state overall, and a Top 10 offensive lineman. I think he can continue to climb even higher with a strong start to the upcoming season.

One of our fastest risers regardless of position, Tselentis has flown up our rankings, jumping nearly 150 spots from his previous spot in the mid-200s. He can play guard or tackle and was extremely impressive in camp settings this spring. He plays mostly left tackle and is starting to get some FBS interest thanks to a strong athletic profile and great technique.

Playing left tackle last season, Lucas was named All-Conference and showed off the power he developed well in the offseason on the field. Lucas’s athleticism is the star of the show here, as he shows he can block well in space on a number of different pulls in the Panthers’ offense. Lucas shows good footwork in pass protection as well, with the ability to mirror pass rushers attempting to beat him with speed on the outside. From a recruiting perspective, Lucas has seen his recruiting really increase this off-season, with offers from multiple Division 1 schools.

Lucas has some well-deserved recruiting attention currently, and I expect that attention to increase once we really get into the offseason here. Lucas is a powerful prospect who shows great athleticism, getting into space in the screen game and punishing 2nd and 3rd level defenders. Lucas does a very good job in pass protection, not letting speed rushers turn the corner or bull rushers push him into the quarterback’s pocket. He is another no-brainer pick for the Junior Bowl team.
