Prep Redzone is a scouting service first and foremost. We strive to provide rankings for not just the top players in each class, but for the guys who will fill D2 and D3 rosters. But as we scout, we also pick up information about where players intend to play at the next level. I'll never spoil a player's announcement, even if I know where they'll end up. That's not my job and it's not enjoyable. However, as players narrow down their lists and ultimately commit, we can add some context.

This report is a bit different as I've got a ton of small notes after a very busy week. Not everything in here is directly related to recruiting, but ultimately will impact where players spend their college careers.

New Offers Roll In

The most significant offer for a top prospect this week rolled in late Wednesday night as Thomas Davis Jr. earned a scholarship offer to Georgia. While he's firmly committed to Notre Dame, a team that beat the Bulldogs in last year's College Football Playoff, Georgia offers can sometimes move the needle.

That's especially true for a prospect whose dad was an All-American with the Bulldogs and Davis paid tribute with a photo of his dad attached to the Twitter offer. While I'm not ready to predict that he'll ultimately end up with the Bulldogs, it'd be silly to dismiss the offer completely. At the very least, Georgia has a compelling story to tell Davis.

A couple of players saw their recruitments take off last week. Mooresville defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1669957' first='Jack' last='Nelin'] received his first offer from Brown University last Wednesday, and has subsequently earned three more from FCS schools since. It's a reminder that it often only takes one school to step up with an offer for a player's recruitment to take off.

His teammate, 2026 tight end [player_tooltip player_id='327286' first='Gavin' last='Barber'] earned offers from Brown, North Carolina A&T, and Wofford in quick succession. He's quickly becoming a priority for FCS teams.

Another pair of teammates earned their first offers last week. East Bladen two-way lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1669974' first='Malik' last='Banks'] earned an offer from Howard post-grad in Cleveland, Ohio, while his teammate, running back [player_tooltip player_id='1669967' first='Dashon' last='Campbell'] earned an offer from South Georgia.

Some big-time defenders earned more offers last week, with Ashbrook LB [player_tooltip player_id='1246060' first='Caleb' last='Gordon'] picking up an offer from Cincinnati. 2027 No. 1 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1029786' first='Griff' last='Galloway'] earned Auburn, LSU, and Nebraska offers last week, while his teammate, 2026 IOL [player_tooltip player_id='864378' first='Leo' last='Delaney'] set a decision for August 11.

Millbrook 2027 LB [player_tooltip player_id='651173' first='Quinton' last='Cypher'] earned offers from high-academic P4s Georgia Tech and Stanford, while teammate Rashaad Streets added to his list with offers from Missouri, Nebraska, and Georgia Tech. Their teammate, defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1608326' first='Cairo' last='Williams'] added a rare early Group of Five offer from Coastal Carolina. Elsewhere in the Raleigh area, Clayton DB [player_tooltip player_id='366314' first='AK' last='Crumel'] earned a Tennessee offer and Rolesville RB [player_tooltip player_id='378957' first='Amir' last='Brown'] was offered by Virginia Tech. Ole Miss stopped into Cardinal Gibbons, offering 2028 linebacker Skylar Alston and 2027 defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='320308' first='Xavier' last='Hasan'].

We'll wrap up this whiparound with some updates on Charlotte-area recruits. Mount Pleasant athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1332065' first='Ethan' last='Dempsey'] is taking off on the recruiting trail, with four offers in the last week, including offers from Lenoir-Rhyne and Memphis. Monroe defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1607814' first='Caniyus' last='Rushing'] is gaining some traction, with an East Carolina offer last week.

Finally, West Charlotte athlete [player_tooltip player_id='378926' first='Davion' last='Jones'] earned a Wisconsin offer and his fellow defensive back, Sincere Daye earned his first offer from Howard University.

Final Miscellaneous Notes

A few final notes. 2028 edge rusher Brady Hunt had mentioned to me a while back that he would likely transfer and now we know his destination. Hunt and his younger brother, a promising 2029 recruit, will move to Hough ahead of the 2025 season.

Cleveland linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1600424' first='Jaylen' last='King'] earned his first offer from Army, and we expect more to come. A linebacker MVP at our Prep Redzone North Carolina Combine, King is a guy who could see his recruitment soar this offseason.

Spring practice is starting with some schools finishing their second week and other counties completing their first. As rankings kick off Monday (2026 updates May 12, 2027 is May 19, and 2028 is May 26) Prep Redzone will be continuing offseason content.

Make sure to send film on Twitter/X (@whelms21) I'm also looking for a few more schools to visit before we start our offseason program profiles series.
