I was very impressed by the sophomore DB/WR/Returner out of Edgerton while watching his Hudl highlights. It is highlights that are created by his excellent base of athleticism. From his speed to his short area burst and agility. That paired with his vision and instincts make him an elusive athlete with the ball in his hands. It also allows him to recover in coverage or change direction, or go track down the ball for a turnover. Eli's sophomore highlights show a kid that has developed a strong playmaking ability. He has the ability to change the game with or without the ball in his hands.

I'm a big fan of the way Aiden plays the game at the LB position. He is an old-school, strong, downhill punisher of an ILB. The '27 has a perfect frame for that play style too. He dominates between the tackles when he fills his gap against the run. The power is there to shed OL blocks and he also has the burst to effectively blitz through gaps. Even when he is engaged with a block, you see the strength to just reach out and rip ball carriers down with a single arm. Aiden also does a great job of flowing with the play, finding the all quickly, and then closing on it. The range is starting to develop along with the impressive frame, power, and tackling. Big things ahead for this kid.

The #2 edge defender in the state is a very exciting prospect that looks like he has a very high ceiling. Harlan has the length that is coveted off the edge. He is also a fluid long strider who can cover ground in a hurry when he gets into the backfield leading to a lot of backfield disruption. The sophomore also showed that he can consistently use his size to create separation so he has the space to disengage and get after the ball. On top of it all, the 2027 plays with a high motor to make the chase down tackle or fight across his man to keep outside leverage. Check out the sophomore's tape.

Despite playing within a loaded WR room, sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1475494' first='Mekhi' last='Malcom'] carved out a nice role for himself in 2024 on the varsity team. The raw tools are a fantastic base for him to build on top of. Mekhi is quick off the line, is very sudden when he goes into a route break, and is able to quickly accelerate out of those breaks. The speed is there to get deep or create yards after the catch. Malcom also shows that he can make the concentration catch in traffic. I'm pumped to see him with a larger target count this coming fall. Big things ahead for him.

Another up and coming ILB prospect to keep a close watch on is [player_tooltip player_id='1540874' first='Keaton' last='Wollan'] of Emery. Keaton is building up a frame that looks the part of a next level LB recruit. The tape is as well. Keaton has the range and lateral agility to be able to flow with the play, pursue beyond the tackle box, and also attack quickly downhill vs the inside run. The sophomore doesn't shy away from the physical side of the position. He is able to rip through block attempts on his way to tackles. Keaton also does well beating blocks with his lateral movement that is able to make TEs/OLs miss their punch giving him time to slip past. I recommend keeping a close watch on this athlete.

Isaiah is on his way towards developing into a mismatch out wide. He has elite length, Isaiah just needs time to add the necessary mass to his frame. The outside WR has tape filled up with him consistently finding open grass among the DBs. The long striding WR is able to cover ground whether it is getting deep or cutting across the field. It is also clear that the long WR has a large catch radius to offer his QB. He will high point the ball and catches it away from his body consistently. The pieces are starting to come together for Isaiah. I'm excited for his development.

Up next we stay out wide for another receiver recruit. Austin is another long, lean WR that is going to become even more dangerous as he fills out. What he put on tape in 2024 points to big things ahead. The sophomore shines in scenarios where he can battle for positioning and going up for 50/50 balls. He is strong through the catch, even among a sea of hands. The sophomore also does well coming back for the football instead of waiting for it. His size, strength, and concentration/aggression at the catch point are intriguing. More to come for this kid.

I'm a big fan of the way Brooks plays on the edge. He is lined up tight on the edge, wider out towards the slot at times, and sometimes more of an off-ball OLB. There are highlights from every position too. Brooks has a long frame to be able to create that space needed to beat blocks and he has the speed to rush from the wider alignment and still get into the backfield before the ball gets away. Brooks looks comfortable playing in space whether it be off the edge taking on a block and still making the tackle or dropping into coverage and picking up guys coming into his zone. The tools are there for Lenz to continue to develop into an impact player off the edge.

Verona had no shortage of talent on their 2024 defense, so seeing a sophomore LB make a big impact tells you a lot about Jack. The Top 5 LB wrecks havoc between the tackles with his quickness and ability to turn that quickness into power. That power should only become more impactful as he continues to fill out his frame and push towards 200 lbs. Jack dominated 2024 with his blitzing. Over and over you see him slice into the backfield and ruin plays before they had a chance to develop. Jack attacks at full speed every snap and closes so quickly on the ball. I think Jack is on his way towards becoming a special LB prospect.

The left guard out of Edgewood HS is going to be a problem for DL over the coming years. Henry checks in at 6'3" and has so much room to fill out his frame that is easily carrying the 240 lbs on his sophomore tape. Henry brings excellent range and mobility to the trenches. He is able to pull out into space and land blocks on DBs/LBs or across the formation and kick out a DL. The sophomore also does really well creating power right away with his initial punch. He is able to transition that speed into power on contact leading to him creating that surge in the trenches or a pancake. I'm excited to watch Henry continue to grow and fine tune his game.
