MAS has seen a lot of graduation and player movement over the past couple years opening the door for several athletes to make a name for themselves. This season we should see a lot of new names breakout for the Novas and that includes my choice for the team’s go to WR. Even with just that small sample it is clear that the defense already respected his speed. The junior fasted big cushions that he was able to erase with his burst. He has effortless, soft hands that allow him to catch and instantly get up field. With the ball in his hands Malcom has shown that he can beat angles and juke his way through the secondary to big gains. Don’t sleep on the explosive weapon.

He returns as the only player on the roster to have caught a varsity pass in 2024, instantly making him the most experienced playmaker on the team. Turn on the tape and you see why they had to find a role for him even with all the senior WR talent they had in 2024. Vertical speed, sudden route breaks, and the awareness to come back to the ball to secure it before a DB can close on it show up over and over throughout his highlights. Mekhi is a playmaker that is really going to start to make a name for himself this fall in his junior season. Get him on your radars today.

Despite playing within a loaded WR room, sophomore Mekhi Malcom Mekhi Malcom 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR/DB Milwaukee Academy Of Science | 2027 State WI carved out a nice role for himself in 2024 on the varsity team. The raw tools are a fantastic base for him to build on top of. Mekhi is quick off the line, is very sudden when he goes into a route break, and is able to quickly accelerate out of those breaks. The speed is there to get deep or create yards after the catch. Malcom also shows that he can make the concentration catch in traffic. I’m pumped to see him with a larger target count this coming fall. Big things ahead for him.

Milwaukee Academy of Science had an insanely dominant and productive offense in 2024. They graduate or lost to relocation almost their entire offensive production. That is exciting for me because we are going to see a ton of new names step up and take big jobs. One of those athletes is WR Mekhi Malcom Mekhi Malcom 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR/DB Milwaukee Academy Of Science | 2027 State WI . Mekhi got his feet wet last season going 13/224/3 on the year. There is a lot of room for improvement on those numbers though. Over 110 receptions graduate this summer. A lot of opportunities for a talented 2027 to snag.

Malcom brings speed out wide and the ability to play the ball in the air. He can get on top of his CB and pull away down the sideline and also did well attacking the intermediate levels with his route running. The glimpses were awesome to see. Now it is time for him to takeover.
