I believe Demetris is listed as a safety, but his tape shows a long, lean athlete who lines up over WRs pretty often and successfully. His long frame is built for CB. Vertical speed, quick feet and hips to turn and run, and the awareness to know when to look back for the football to break up the pass. Having Vance at safety has also put him in position to get to show off that he is a willing and able tackler too. His position versatility could help raise his stock for teams and staffs.

Demetris is a long CB at 6’1″, perfect for battling WRs downfield and at the line. Vance’s highlights show a versatile athlete. He will play near the box and quickly close against the run game and not hesitate to play physical and make tackles off the edge. Then you will see him out in tight man to man coverage with no help over the top. Demetris has examples of him being able to turn and run deep with WRs and be competitive at the catch point to break up passes. We also see him play over the top at safety and read and close on the ball to break up passes. This is an under the radar athlete to check out.
