TOP FIVE SPOTLIGHT

[player_tooltip player_id='353415' first='Elijah' last='Thomas'] - Checotah

When we look back at some of our older notes, we think that Checotah wide receiver and Oklahoma signee [player_tooltip player_id='353415' first='Elijah' last='Thomas'] was one of the very first 2025 prospects that we knew about. The Checotah head coach let us know before he was even a freshman that Thomas had the potential to be the real deal and he clearly wasn't lying. Thomas emerged as one of the best overall playmakers in Oklahoma, earning PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year honors for his work as a senior. Thomas finished his career as the #2 overall prospect but you could make such a strong case for him to be in the top spot. In fact, there really isn't much of a difference if you wanted to consider him 1A or 1B, it really doesn't matter because he is an absolute monster of a prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='347111' first='Jaden' last='Nickens'] - Douglass

Technically, [player_tooltip player_id='347111' first='Jaden' last='Nickens'] will go down as a member of the state's 2025 football class even though he didn't play his senior season in Oklahoma. After spending his first three football seasons at Millwood, Nickens transferred to Douglass for basketball. Over the summer, he moved out to California and spent his senior season in football at Sierra Canyon and now he's back in Oklahoma at Douglass. Nickens is committed to Kansas and expects to play both basketball and football at the next level. When he was in Oklahoma, Nickens was one of the more dynamic players in the state. Even though we didn't see him in the fall of 2024, we saw enough of Nickens over the last few years to know that he's one of the top prospects in this 2025 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='294261' first='Trey' last='Washington'] - Carl Albert

Carl Albert standout and Oklahoma signee [player_tooltip player_id='294261' first='Trey' last='Washington'] is such a unique prospect when it comes to the 2025 class. Washington was Carl Albert's leading wide receiver during his freshman season and he immediately got on our radar. And from there, it's just been business as usual for Washington as he's consistently been a top 10 or top 20 overall prospect and eventually committed and signed with Oklahoma. But despite that, it feels like he's been incredibly underrated over the last two seasons and that might have something to do with playing on a Carl Albert team that was absolutely loaded and had a mini pipeline of players heading to OU. But nevertheless, Washington has been one of the better overall prospects from the start of his career to the end.

[player_tooltip player_id='479389' first='Matrail' last='Lopez'] - Idabel

Idabel wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='479389' first='Matrail' last='Lopez'] is another example of an absolutely dynamic playmaker at the small school level that can completely take a game over. Whether it's from multiple positions on offense, defense or special teams, Lopez was one of the best players in the state during the 2024 season. Around this time last year, Lopez was offered by Oklahoma State to play wide receiver and that's the position he was searching for when it came to the next level. He committed to the Cowboys and would sign to play his college ball in Stillwater. Lopez is incredibly versatile to go along with the dynamic playmaking ability. We think that he's going to have a very bright future because of all the different things he's able to do at a high level on the football field.

[player_tooltip player_id='382643' first='Dakotah' last='Terrell'] - Pocola

It was around this time last year that Pocola's [player_tooltip player_id='382643' first='Dakotah' last='Terrell'] really started to blow up as a truly elite prospect within the state's 2025 class. In his first two years, Terrell was considered more of a basketball prospect but when his junior season film started making the rounds, he became a very unique prospect in the state. Terrell is 6'8 and at the wide receiver position, you simply don't see that combination very often. You throw on the film and watch this 6'8 unicorn-like prospect returning kicks and it doesn't seem real. Terrell was offered by programs all over the country and would eventually settle on Missouri. He's definitely a unique prospect that will need to fill out his 6'8 frame to get ready for the SEC but there's a high ceiling with him.

FIVE MORE 2025 STANDOUTS

[player_tooltip player_id='211560' first='CJ' last='Simon'] - Tuttle

Tuttle wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='211560' first='CJ' last='Simon'] is headed to the next level to play at UTEP. Simon has been an absolute playmaker for four seasons now. He broke out as a freshman when he was at Moore and only continued to make plays over the next three years. Last summer, Simon moved from Moore to Tuttle and helped the Tigers make it all the way to the Class 4A state championship game. Simon is a dynamic athlete that seems to always have fun on the football field. But don't let that smile fool you, he is an absolute menace to opposing defensive backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1096189' first='Blake' last='Hogshooter'] - Bixby

Bixby wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1096189' first='Blake' last='Hogshooter'] is headed to the next level to play at Houston and this is coming off a terrific senior season. Hogshooter was primed to be the top target in the Bixby passing attack and he ended up that way in the fall. That comes as no surprise to us after watching him go to work in the last few offseasons. He's a tall target that has incredibly relatable hands. And the thing that makes him such an interesting prospect for the next level is the fact that the "tough balls" don't seem very tough to him. He's used to making outstanding plays look pretty normal and he does it at a high clip.

[player_tooltip player_id='215570' first='Brady' last='McAdoo'] - Tuttle

We have been on Tuttle's [player_tooltip player_id='215570' first='Brady' last='McAdoo'] since we first saw him early on in his career. At the time, we weren't sure what McAdoo would project to at the next level and the Tuttle coaches weren't sure either. He's been a running back, wide receiver, cornerback, kick returner and punter and he's had a lot of success at all of those positions. We have McAdoo as a wide receiver prospect to close out his career and he'll head to the next level to Abilene Christian. And we're just saying this right now, we've been trying to tell you about this kid. He's a very underrated athlete and will be a reliable playmaker for the next four to five years.

[player_tooltip player_id='353412' first='Billy' last='McDown'] - Edmond Memorial

We'll continue to buy stock in [player_tooltip player_id='353412' first='Billy' last='McDown'] out of Edmond Memorial as long as it's available. He's a prospect that we still feel like is scratching the surface on what he could be when it comes to the next level. So having said that, Oklahoma Baptist is getting an absolute steal with signing him for the next level. McDown is a terrific athlete that emerged as the top target in the Edmond Memorial passing attack. He's got good size, speed and hands and that combination is definitely going to make him a problem at the next level. McDown is one of those prospects that has an incredibly high ceiling and his best football is still ahead of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='456293' first='Kayleb' last='Barnett'] - Jenks

Jenks wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='456293' first='Kayleb' last='Barnett'] made the most of his senior season, becoming a dynamic speedster for the Trojans on the outside. Barnett moved to Jenks from Broken Arrow and immediately gave the Trojans a weapon at the wide receiver position that most opponents weren't going to be able to contain. Because Barnett is a legitimate track star, speed was the name of the game for him throughout his career on the football field. It was enough to get noticed by college coaches and he's headed to the next level to play at Vanderbilt.
