Welcome to this week's Friday Film Room, where we take a deeper look at some standout players from across Oklahoma. This session is all about going beyond the surface—diving into the details you only catch when you really study the film. We're talking about technique, fundamentals, decision-making, and how players respond in key moments.

As coaches, this is where you separate flash from substance. Anyone can make a highlight play, but what shows up consistently snap after snap is what really matters. Footwork, leverage, ball skills, eye discipline, effort—those are the traits we're focusing on in this breakdown.

The players featured this week put together strong performances and showed qualities that translate. Whether it's consistency, toughness, or the ability to execute under pressure, each of these athletes gave us something worth studying and evaluating moving forward.

Let's get into the film.

Here is a player from Jenks that really stood out to me on tape in our Film Room Friday. Jaylon is a weapon out at slot receiver where he does a lot of things that really standout on tape. I like how Jaylon is a physical blocker who isn't afraid to mix it up and good at double moves to help create the separation he needs. He runs good routes and knows how to find open windows for his quarterback to get him the ball. Jaylon shows strong hands and can usually make the first guy miss or continues to move his feet to gain those extra tough yards he needs. Jaylon will be one to keep an eye on his senior season!

Very first clip that I turned on for Film Room Friday on Jake, he made a spectacular play at middle linebacker where he went up and snagged the ball out of the air for a touchdown. Jake is athletic with a long frame who stands in at 6'3" from Mount St. Mary. He does a good job of getting off blocks well and just makes plays on the defensive side of the ball. On the offensive side of the ball, he plays out at wide receiver and is a big target for his quarterback. He shows off nice hands and once he catches the ball, he picks up those hard yards with his yards after catch. Jake is a big body athlete who creates mismatches down in the redzone.

Jax is an athlete that can play multiple positions out on the field on both sides of the ball for the Zebras. The film that I watched he was at inside linebacker and showed he is explosive at the point of contact and likes to get downhill in the run game. He is athletic and can run from sideline to sideline. In the passing game, he shows that he can run with a running back out of the backfield and likes to get hands on to re-route the receivers. Jax is an interesting athlete, and it will be good to see what he can do next season up on the varsity level as the game picks up in speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1522518' first='DK' last='Jeffries'] is a running back who is in the class of 2028 out of Hugo. What's interesting about DK is his balance, vision and footwork he displays all throughout his film. DK is a patient running back and once he sees his crease he will attack it. As a running back, you have to be patient in any zone schemes and DK shows it on tape. Once he makes his cut, he doesn't hesitate with that decision, he goes after it. DK is a weapon out of the backfield, and you can line him up at slot receiver who shows he has reliable hands. I really like watching DK's tape and excited for his JR season to see what he can do.

Ben plays quarterback at Community Christian School and is in the class of 2029. Ben is a dual threat quarterback as he is not afraid to drop back and tuck the ball away to get positive yards that he needs to help move those chains. The more film that I watched he ran several different zone read and power read concepts to keep the ball in his hands. Ben does a good job throwing into open windows and throws a good ball. He has a good touch on the ball and moves well in the pocket with good footwork. He also does well in his sprint out game and puts the ball where only his receiver can catch the ball.
