We are extremely excited to announce the release of our Class of 2028 Rankings list. Earlier today we published the initial 2028 rankings that featured a Top 10 comprised of the ten freshman prospects we thought showed the most in year 1.

Breakdown:

Now, I want to start this off by saying that this was a very tough task to do mostly due to lack of game tape and varsity experience. As freshman, players tend to be the most spread out as some play for their school's freshman team and some get moved up to the JV/varsity levels, so it tends to add an extra level of difficulty. Varsity play was our biggest factor in this ranking as it helps us with our projections of the players. There are several prospects on the watchlist that I believe will develop into elite recruits, but have yet to play significant varsity minutes.

Don't worry if you are not ranked right now, as these lists are fluid and will change many times (maybe twice before next season). So there's no need to panic, our DMs are always open for new players or parents wanting to share film.

Top 10:

Elkhorn's [player_tooltip player_id='1573578' first='Eli' last='Betz'] claims the top spot in the initial rankings. Eli burst onto the scene as he quickly earned the Antlers starting right tackle spot. Betz's flashes an elite blend of size (6'6” and 280 pounds), good athleticism, and already possessing an understanding of his position beyond his years. He will definitely garner lots of D1 attention.

Lincoln Christian's [player_tooltip player_id='1590682' first='Carter' last='Hiatt'] had a monster freshman season as he finished with 92 tackles, 4 TFLs, and 2 sacks. Carter also has a next-level frame at 6'2” and 215 pounds. Very instinctive and physical linebacker who plays with an intense motor. Keep a very close eye on this guy!

Bellevue West's defensive mauler [player_tooltip player_id='1590728' first='Micah' last='Santiago'] rounds out the top three. The 6'3,” 300 pounds defensive tackle proved to be a force on the Thunderbird's interior DL. He is very aggressive at the point of attack with great leg drive to plow through blockers. Watching his freshman clips, I was kinda reminded of a former T-Bird linemen, Caden Camese, who would go on to play at Mercer. Some rawness here but with more experience, Micah will develop into a great prospect.

The rest of the top 10 goes as is: Lincoln Standing Bear TE [player_tooltip player_id='1573580' first='Paul' last='Hart'], Omaha Central ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1590700' first='Yasir' last='Grixby'], Creighton Prep DL [player_tooltip player_id='1590726' first='Gavin' last='Trapp'], Omaha Westside OL [player_tooltip player_id='1581454' first='Justin' last='Parish Jr'], Gretna LB [player_tooltip player_id='1573579' first='Cayson' last='Schlotfeld'], Omaha Westview's [player_tooltip player_id='1590714' first='Scott' last='Miner II'], and Alliance's [player_tooltip player_id='1590706' first='Caysen' last='Robertson'].
